Not Sure What To Do....

I have been on Cymbalta for several years...originally prescribed for depression. It never helped with the depression but I had a positive side effect I didn't expect at the time. I have endometriosis and had been suffering from pelvic pain and once I started cymbalta...the pain went away. So I decided to stay on it to help with the chronic pain.

I have been on 60 mg for most of this time and in January was laid off from my job. I've managed to keep my insurance to help pay for it but I noticed about a month ago that I was not taking my cymbalta on a regular basis. It seems being without a routine everyday...I would often forget to take it. So maybe a week ago I decided to just stop taking it for purely financial reasons since my insurance will run out soon and I can't afford to stay on it.

I have always noticed a headache if I forget to take my pill each day but this past week that I have not been taking the Cymbalta has been hard. I now see from reading other's posts that I am not alone and that there are withdrawal symptoms to pay attention to.

I am currently suffering from something like vertigo...but maybe is the "brain zaps". I also am angering very easily...very irritable. And I'm having some trouble sleeping.

I'm wondering if I should just start taking my Cymbalta again daily and try to get in to a doctor before my insurance runs out to develop a plan for tapering off. I'm torn...Any suggestions?

I would try to get in and taper off as slowly as you can with the amount of capsules you have available. Your brain has gotten used to Cymbalta daily, so when you start skipping days/stopping all together, things get wacky. Hope that helps. Good luck.
