I am currently on Cymbalta after many years of other drugs including Zoloft, Wellbutrin and Effexor. I had a terrible experience coming off of Effexor that resulted only in my going back on, then changing to Cymbalta. I feel, at this point, that the drugs are causing as many problems as the initial depression did, and am looking at the possibility of coming off but am living this year in rural Italy and need some real support in considering this possibility and its consequences.

The doctor I'm seeing has suggested using a homeopathic remedy named Carcinosinum in combination with reducing from 60 mg to 30 mg in one step. So there are two questions in this one: the first, I know the answer to: that kind of reduction is asking for trouble. This doctor assures me that the Carcinosinum will fill the gap of the reduction. Has anyone on the board ever done this? Or heard of it? Any thoughts, please? Even the ones I suspect are coming are most welcome.

Queen,
I know Junior uses homeopathic, but that was not during her withdrawls from this drug, plus I think she just went cold turkey.

I am just no one willing to spend my money and go through hell to find out if this would work.
I don't know what that is, or how it works. Also that is just just a hughe reduction, and even
those people don't know anything about this drug, we are all still just learning and finding out new things that it causes. Like the thing with alcohol craving!!!

I know we want off this stuff more than anything, and also want the withdrawls to go away, but I
still am just for reducing the dose even more if your still having way too many!!!

About 10-11 days ago I had the most incredible thing happen to me, and that was to wake up and feel normal again. All the misery was gone, fear, panic, anxiety, all of it. What I had been doing was instead of decreasing by 1 mg every 2 weeks, was to decrease by 1/2 mg every 3 weeks.
One really does have to find the amount of decrease that works right for them.

Let me know what you do, do, and how it goes. You can always try it, and if you start getting the withdrawls again really bad, pop a Cymbalta :)

Four Dont's

Don't hurry. Your going to live for ever---somewhere. IN fact, you are in eternity now;so why rush!
Don't Worry. You belong to God, and God id Love; so why fret?
Don't Condemn. As you cannot get under the other fellow's skin, you cannot possibly know what difficulities he has had to meet-Your are not perfect yourself and might be much worse in his shoes.
Don't Resent. If wrong has been done, the Great Law will surley take care of it. Rise up in consciousness and set both yourself and the delinquent free. Forgiveness is the strongest medicine.
