I need to get off Cymbalta

Posted 14 August 2010 - 02:10 PM

I have taken 30mg of Cymbalta for 8 days and I feel awful. Intense anxiety and abnormal amount of racing energy, headache, constipation, clenching jaw at night and insomnia, shakiness. I need to quit and am wondering if I can do it right away since I have only been on for 8 days. I can't take this anymore as it is ruining me. Please advise me of what steps to take. Thank you

    Trying to taper off Cymbalta

Posted 14 August 2010 - 11:22 PM

Kasbella,

If it was me, I would try another medication as soon as possible. I took Cymbalta for 5 years and could never tolerate the dose my doctor wanted me to take (60 mgs). I think that I could not tolerate the higher dose, might of been a sign it was the wrong medication for me.

Sure, Cymbalta has helped alot of people, but it has messed up alot of people too, especially trying to get off of it. I would seriously consider taking a differnt medication. I have been weaning off of Cymbalta, for 4 months and it has been a detour in hell. Good Luck to you, what ever you decide to do.
