Hi, I am also going cold turkey and started two days ago. I was on cymbalta for over 3 years on a dosage of 60mg, with the previous 5 years on Zoloft. I ended up having to up the dosage of Zoloft so much that my doctor decided to put me on Cymbalta. As I was getting to the point of increasing the Cymbalta dosage yet again, decided enough was enough.
My current withdrawl symptoms are night sweats and feeling as though I have a fever, broken sleep, vivid dreams and a very fuzzy head. I am going to hand in there with extra vitamin E, Omega 3, good diet and walking (I am 53 years old and need to do more anyway), and have some cymbalta in cupboard just in case things get too drastic/dangerous. Hope to keep up with how you are going, as I will try and post each day now as a sort of diary. Hang in there, Carol

Dear Runmarerun and Carolpno:
I am not a doctor but it seems to me that stopping cymbalta abruptly from such high doses might bring horrible withdrawals.
I am too afraid to go cold turkey so I started weaning very slowly. Because I feel that, that gives the brain and body time to adjust. For some reason my body doesn´t tolerate big drops.
I totally agree with the title of your post "effects worse than the depression". Since I diminished the dosage, I´ve experienced a long list of physical and psychological symptoms, that I didn´t have once my depression initially hit. Such as anger, uncontrollable laughter, nausea, headaches, etc, etc
