I´ve had these symptoms: cold-like symptoms, sensitivity to odors, sneezing and tooth pain. The tooth pain is not constant, and it is not severe. It comes and goes. The flu-like symptoms come and go.
This time I think I have the REAL flu, because it is more severe than other times.

I cracked #19 and broke off a large part of #31 while in the early weeks of $ymbala withdrawal. Both teeth had large amalgam restorations. #19 abscessed around week 3 and was extracted earlier this week. The teeth above it are aching and # 13 has a gum boil which developed yesteday after much pain.
Bruxism is known side effect of SSRI's. However, I have not found info regarding Bruxism and $ymbalta. Haven't found any about tooth pain, either.
I'm guessing that the tooth pain is coming from the bruxism caused by $ymbalta. Would love any info anyone has.

Do you think these are symptoms of withdrawing, or just symptoms/side effects of the actual drug? I have the EXACT issues.....tooth pain, like a sinus pain, sneezing, etc. UGH! From now on, I just blame everything I feel on the D#@% drug!

IMO, the grinding is a side effect of the wretched drug. However, during withdrawal a human being is in so much misery that the grinding intensifies. In my case, I wore the enamel off some teeth which apparently let to abscesses.
Everyone having tooth pain should check with a dentist to see if the teeth are damaged.
If I ahd realized that I was grinding my teeth while on the wretched drug I could have bought a night guard and probably saved my teeth. It's a good idea for anyone who even suspects that they are grinding their teeth to BUY A $25 night guard and save yourself thousands of dollars in dental restoration. To say nothing of the pain and misery of abscessed teeth.
Also, anyone experiencing this side effect should report it to the FDA. It is SO WRONG for a medicine to be prescribed and ADVERTISED to the max if it is going to do this to people. I wonder how many people have damaged their teeth while on $ymbalta without realizing that it was the culprit?
A class action lawsuit is long overdue.
