Hi this is my first posting. I started on Cymbalta about 4 months ago for some neck pain and at first it was a wonder drug for me. After about 2 months the GI symptoms were so horrible I decided to taper off and my doc put me on an every other day taper (I was on 60 mg) I recently finished my taper about a week ago and now for the past 4 days I have had a horrible migraine and feel like my nerve endings are completely frayed. It's like my synapses aren't getting along very well. I don't feel like I can drive safely and I am super irritable because of it. I broke down this morning and took one of my 30 mg pills after leaving my doc a message asking for a lower dose pill to help with the symptoms (taking a longer taper possibly?) I don't love the horrible GI pain and effects but this is unbearable. Did anyone else have this type of reaction and if so, how long does it last? I am not loving this. I would never have started this med if I knew this was a possible side effect. :(

I know exactly what you are going through. I have taken Cymbalta for over a year for depression and now my doctor has put me on Welbutrin. Well thease effects are driving me crazy! My face keeps going numb, I cannot turn my head because I feel this tingling sensation all through my head. I already was getting severe headaches and now they are worse then ever. I feel ready to just pop a cymbalta to get rid of how I am feeling. It's like detox from heroine or something. Almost like this drug makes you dependent on it and you go even crazier after you quit it. I wish I would have never started this pill and if anybody ever asks me how it helps with depression I will tell them to never take this!

I know what you mean about feeling like a junkie going through withdrawals. It's almost embarrassing to try and explain to people. I am angry that my Internal Medicine doc did not know more about the possibility of this kind of reaction before putting me on this medication. :( I am starting to have the withdrawal symptoms again since the capsule I took is beginning to wear out of my system and I haven't heard from my MD regarding a better taper schedule. I am tempted to just try and tough it out through the horrible spacy feelings...wonder how long it will take before I will feel human???

I read that you are taking 60mg every other day. Ask your doctor if you could take a certain dose EVERYDAY. Cymbalta comes in 30mg and 20mg presentation. So instead of taking 60mg every other day, you could try 30mg everyday. Just a suggestion

I did do this for two weeks, (30mg) then tapered to every other day, then every third day, then off. I have stuck it out and I am FINALLY getting better. After a month. Oy.
