I wouldn't recommend it by the way.

Hi everybody, I'm new to the board. So glad to see this. I was getting so scared, but am feeling a bit better after finding this.

Due to the loss of my job and insurance I cannot afford my meds. I took my last half dose two weeks ago. Have a job now, but still no insurance.

After a day I felt a difference. Been feeling sick, like I'm gonna throw up a lot. And I started having heart palpitaions last week. I've had palpations for 20 years due to the anxiety, but they happened rarely, maybe once a month. Now its several times a day. And the irritablility, last night I had a complete emotional melt down when I couldn't get my new VCR to work. Had my blood pressure checked today by my Orthopedic doc and it was up as well. He said that BP could also be affected by withdrawl and highly suggested I see my family doctor.

I'd been on Cymbalta for two years. Before that Effexor (I think is the name) for a while. And I was on Paxil for over 10 years.

I'm sure everybody who whose gone through this understands how scary it can be.

Due to the symptoms not getting any better, but worse, I plan on going to the doc and see if he can prescribe me a generic anxiety med to help. I thought I could handle this, but I was wrong.

Thanks again for having this board.

Dear Aprilmay:

You are not alone. I have experienced all the symptoms you mentioned: heart palpitations, irritability, etc. Yes, it can be scary. Taking into account that you have to work, ask your doctor what you can do to overcome withdrawal.

Otherwise you could go back to a certain dosage of cymbalta and start tapering slowly from there. Some people even add prozac at the last stages of weaning.
