I just wanted to send out a message of encouragement. I have been on 90 mg of Cymbalta for 4 & 1/2 years. I have tried 3 times to get off it. The withdrawal (just like every one else describes, which is a bit freaky to read) was just too much to tolerate. This time I found a nutritionist willing to help me by using amino acids and I am almost there. My last dose was 30 mg 5 days ago. I weaned over months slowly getting to the 30 mg every other day then every 3rd day and so on. This is a huge risk to mix amino acids with psych meds. But I actually got to the point of being so desperate to get off the Cymbalta that I would do anything. I was going to open one of the 30 mg up yesterday and dump out half of one and take that because of the withdrawal but I couldn't bring myself to put more of that crap in my body. I'm still dealing with the electrical zaps all over my body. When someone speaks it's like I can actually feel the words or any sound come into my ear, then I get that electrical zap. I'm still dizzy but not nearly as bad. The flu like feelings are gone, I'm finally sleeping (that took 2 weeks), the extreme stomach pain is gone, diarrhea gone, irritability and crying spells are over. God, I didn't realize how bad it was until now. The amino acids really helped take the edge off of the emotional and physical withdrawal. I did not make it this far the last two times!

5HTP, Gabba, L-theanine, and tranquil sleep. All by the company natural factors, the strss-relax line. BUT, am using a Dr. to monitor...very important. Very risky to do on your own.

Thank you so much for the info. I´ve read that 5htp is great for depression. I have never tried it.

So far so good! I feel really good and I'm dealing ok with being premenstrual at the moment. That is never easy. The L-Theanine really takes that irritable feeling away. That stuff is remarkable! So at this point I am 3 weeks on the amino acids. Totally off lyrica, cymbalta, xanax, and restoril. Took many many months of weaning to get here......feels good.

Cookie, pick up the book called The Mood Cure. I followed the protocal in the book. Ended up needing L-Tryptophan instead of 5-HTP (not strong enough). I am doing great off all meds. It was hard...very hard but so worth it.
