Amazingly yesterday I found out that taking Cymbalta along with my migraine meds is highly contraindicated. I'm very surprised that my drs nor my pharmacists cautioned me....and actually had 6 of the 10 diagnosers of the potentially fatal seritonin syndrome. Of course, I realized all this after 5PM on a Friday so getting a hold of my dr will likely be impossible until Monday. I plan to talk to the pharmacist I use to see what they have to say and then also talk to my drs on early next week to find out how to ween off Cymbalta all together. Usually, when I decide to get off a medication, I just do it cold turkey and had thought about doing it with this. But something in my gut told me to research it first to find out what could happen. I'm so glad I did. Because I'm not sure I would have survived alone! Thanks to everyone out there for letting the rest of us know of their battles with coming off this 'miracle" drug. Like many of you, I was simply told this was going to "fix" me and was never told of ANY of the side effects or withdrawl problems. Ironically, I was even told I would likely only have to be on this short-term.
I just recently moved to take on a new job and while I know folks here, I don't know anyone well enough to say "Hey can you come help me as I apparently go through heroine withdrawal with this?" My husband still lives in NY and would happily be with me....but the job situation may not allow it... So, this might get very interesting... Glad you folks are all out there. That will likely help tremendously!!
Good luck to everyone out there....
