I feel horrible. My doctor told me to get off the cymbalta cold turkey and then start pristiq. I have fibromyalgia and this process is horrible. I took pristiq for 2 days and felt so gross, nauseous, headache, so I called my doctor and he said to stop the pristiq and it must be that I still have the cymbalta in my system. So now I am off the pristiq for 3 days and off the cymbalta for 7. I have major tremors, electric shocks, irritable, agitated, emotional, heavy sweating and nauseous and have had a bad neck. I feel so bad. Has anyone felt this way. I don't have a dr. appt. until 3 days from now.He wants me to start pristiq then. I DO NOT WANT TO. I was only on 30 mg of cymbalta a day for 7 months, but have been taking 225 mg of lyrica for about 5 years (I just lowered it to 150 mg) and 7.5mg of remeron for about 4years. I am also on xanax, bystolic. I know there is hope but how long does it take to wean off this med.I want to be happy again? My family or friends do not understand. I feel all alone. Any suggestions.
Please send me some advice or hopeful cheer.

ok, i called the cymbalta...lilly number and they could not give me any answers to my questions. I AM NOW OFF 18 DAYS, AS FOR ME THERE IS NO TURNING BACK. I know my dr wants me to get off...I hope my fibromyalgia doesn't come back strong. From all the stress happening in my body, I even caught an upper respiratory infection. Praise God today I feel better then any other day. I have been sleeping a lot. That helps the most because then I am not feeling the shocks, zaps, tremors as often. Now they are mostly when it's bed time or i get stressed. Please Lord let this mean I am almost fully recovered.

Was on Cymbalta 60mg. about 3 yrs. Stopped c/t when I lost my ins. Horrible w/d. Now back on and weaning slowly. Still suffering. Looking for help from people who have been there. Been tapering for 2 months, and down about 9 mg.

Why did you get off and then on again?Did your pain come back? How long did it take for the withdraws to leave your body?I hope you are well.

Ok I am 29 days off of cymbalta. Thank the Lord the brain zaps, twitches, electric shocks are sooooo much less. It has been a rough rough road but I sure see the light at the end of the tunnel. I can actually feel emotions now, yet I feel extremely tired. I haven't exercised in almost a month...I feel like i want to get as much sleep as possible. I will never take this drug again. I hate that I feel my body detoxing therefore I feel my fibromyalgia coming back strong, but now after a week of major neck pain...i feel some relief. I will come back to let you know how it goes. THERE IS HOPE.

I am glad you say there is hope!I can't feel that right now-I have been off the meds since September 21st-I guess almost 4 weeks, and I don't see the end of the tunnel. It is all about surviving each day to me. This is really hard!

It's very hard unfortunately. Just be stronger than the poison. I'm on day 33 now. Been a long haul & I'm still getting some side effects. The brain Zaps are a lot less severe & less frequent but my fibromyalgia is kicking back in - dammit! I've also got a nasty throat infection but the other side effects - anger, low mood, nausea, etc, etc, etc are almost non existent.

Each day gets a little better - so I agree - there is hope. Never again, I don't care what the problem is, they can jam this crap where the sun don't shine....

Ok I am now on day 40. I am exhausted. Feel stressed...yesterday I went to my doctor's and told him I did not follow his advice of getting back on the cymbalta. He said...well it helped you, but you didn't like the weight gain so you took the bullet. I feel better. I feel extremely tired and agitated (however a friend of mine just tragically died). I have never experienced this before. I started exercising about an hour a week. Ain't much, but it's a start. I feel angry, irritated, still have some brain zaps and tremors, but nothing like before. You can do this! If I could do this we all can do this. Prayer, extra sleep, and extra xanax helped me (per my psychiatrist). God Bless you. I'll come back and check in.

Oh yes, I also got an upper respiratory infection while getting off and my bad dreams have pretty much stopped...but now my insomnia is kicking in. Tomorrow I see my rheumatologist...I am not getting on anything new. However my GM said that with my fibromyalgia I am going to be disappointed if i think there is a magical pill and i will have high expectations not met if i think that it will go away. He said doctor's don't understand fibromyalgia so it's trial and error. Hello...over 5 years of trial and error. Although, cymbalta helped my chiropractor and physical therapist say that my body feels better to them. Thank the Lord.
