Not every pharmacy has a license to do compounding. In NYC, there are only three. For $21 a week, they will make smaller dosage Cymbalta capsules with reductions of 10 percent dosage per week. You do not have to buy pills from them. I am bringing in my 20 mg capsules. The pharmacist checks in with every week to see how you're doing as you're weaning. If 10 percent is too much, he bumps it down to 7 or so. You get the picture.
I'm so glad I discovered this and plan to share this information with my psychiatrist, who told me to take pills every other day (which the compounding pharmacist said was bad advice).
