Male, 52 yrs old. I have been on Cymbalta for several years for depression - 30mg/day, along with Concerta 54 mg (time release version of Ritalin) for adult ADD. My Dr. is suportive of getting off Cymbalta and just staying with Concerta, thinking that the ADD may have masked as depression.

I have gained about 30 lbs, foggy in thinking, my perception of time seems way off (what seems like several days may actually be weeks), no sex drive, trying to focus on tasks at hand seem nearly impossible. Tremendous fatigue, just want to lay down and go to sleep. It's as if my brain is only capable of simple functions.

With Dr concurrence, have been tapering down since Sept 14, staying at roughly half pill of little beads since then, and after a month, would like to go off totally.

Within 10-11 days I have gotten dizzy, and ability to focus on work seems impossible. I just want to lay down and sleep.

Do these most recent symptoms ring a bell with anyone? How long will the dizziness and lack of focus last?

Hi there,

Although it wil be of little comfort to hear this, it's not just happening to you! After 3 years on Cymbalta I've decided it's time to stop, and over the last few months I've gone down from 120mg to 30mg daily. I am exhausted CONSTANTLY. It's a mission to get to work every morning, and on the weekends I feel as though I could sleep forever. I wish I could tell you how long the feeling will last, but my only guess is to gauge it by how long it took you to adjust when you started taking Cymbalta? For me I suffered side effects for at least 3 months before starting to feel "normal", so I'm guessing about the same period of time when stopping. Hopefully not though! And in the meantime, thank God for Red Bull!

Best of luck.
