I want to know what alternatives do I have to Cymbalta. Are there any safe antidepressants in the market?. Has anyone tried another antidepressant who worked well and didn´t have the side and withdrawal effects I am having with this one?. If some people do really need an antidepressant for the rest of their life which antidepressant offer the least side and long term effects? or are they all the same???? I want to hear your experiences, efficacy, side and withdrawal effects of other antidepressants you have taken.

One of the side effects that bothered me the most was the weight gain.

Talk to the doctor about Aropax, I was on it for 10 years and never had any sideeffects. I had trouble coming off it though that was I was put of the this little poison tablet. I have had nothing but side effects - I have experience sever stomach pains and vomiting and was tested for ceoalic disease. Been off it for 5 days not - guess what no stomach pains. I rather deal with the side effects of coming of it. Although I have been doing it in conjunction with my doctor and psychologist and weaning so my symptoms although annoying are not as bad as what some people have described. Also I rather be a big fat heffer than ever go back on this medication.

Was on 30mg for 3 years. Decided to wean off after getting blood work that showed I have extremely high liver enzyme levels.

I took Zoloft- that finally stopped working.
I tried Lexapro and I was so sleepy I couldn't drive home from work. I had an infant and a toddler and couldn't stay awake to take care of them!
I tried the 5-HTP. It was okay- may try again if anxiety starts to act up again after I finish the Cymbalta.
