Stopped taking Cymbalta cold turkey on 9/25/11 after taking it since late 2007. This is my fourth or fifth attempt to stop. All of the other times I tried to stop taking Cymbalta I ended up buying more just so the side effects would go away but now I'm OnMyWay to a Cymbalta free life even if it takes some bad dreams and brain zaps.

As I stated in some of my other posts, I tried going cold turkey from cymbalta about 4 or 5 times now make that 5 or 6 times. As I drug my cymbalta addicted body to the pharmacy for a refill tonight, I mentally gave in to the fact that I must see my Dr again in order to taper off or get another prescription that enables me to get off of this crap. This would have been day 4 for me going cold turkey from taking cymbalta 30mg since late 2007. Ironically, the pharmacist that saw me tonight had been on cymbalta before and she told me that she demanded her Dr to take her off. She then told me that she successfully got off by taking Paxil. I just couldn't take it anymore going the cold turkey route but I am still determined to get off of cymbalta!

Why don't you try counting beads? I'm doing that very slowly (taking out an additional 5 beads per week) and it's working very well.

I made an appointment with my Dr for tomorrow and if he doesn't prescribe me either Paxil or Prozac to get me off of cymbalta then I was going to try the bead method. Have you heard of any long term success stories from people that used this method?
