I went from 60 mg to 40 mg and did ok.... Had the occassional nausea, irritability and dizziness...

But now that I have gone from 40 to 20 mg (on day 6 of 20 mg), everything is 10 fold - I'm VERY irritable, nauseous, dizzy, I can't get my words out, I'm forgeting things that I wouldn't normally forget...

Will this ever end!?!?

To get off of Cymbalta, just the beginning of getting my body clean and sober and off of all of the medications that doctors insisted I needed.

I know for me, I had to taper off much slower than that. I'm one that is taking some beads out a little at a time.. first 1/3 of one capsule (I'm on 120mg, 2 60mg capsules) for a week, and now this week I'm taking out 1/2 of one capsule. It really seems to be helping for me. I'm also depending on Lorazepam to help with nausea and dizziness. Of course, you shouldn't go on this if you are already not taking it. But I've also found that Benadryl helps with the dizziness too.

Some other things I've discovered this past week that has helped me...

Drink lots of water and herbal tea. Chamomile tea seems to help the nausea and calms down any jitters I have. I practically live on it now.

I meditate and this seems to help with all of the symptoms. I think it helps with the serotonin needs.

Lots of showers.. some people have found that baths with epsom salts helps.

I've had lots of itchiness too, and I found that a body oil helps with that. I'm using one by Nivea.

When I feel depressed or jittery, I listen to music... rock and roll, classic and new age.
Rock music gets me singing and moving.

Laughing. Watching a funny music or TV show; Robin Williams or Johnny Carson does it for me.

Using a few drops of Bach's Rescue Remedy helps anxiety.

Keeping a journal about my progress. I add drawings and doodlings and take pictures of weird things that illustrate how I feel, and searching for images online that I print out and glue on the pages. It could be that this activity is a distraction about how bad I feel, but whatever works for me, I'll take.

I have videos for yoga and tai chi and I just started doing these. You can also find instructions online for them. I'm planning on getting a WiiFit soon. I have a bad leg so most exercises, such as walking, are things that are difficult for me too. The bad leg is always painful which is one of the reasons I was on Cymbalta.

These I found on this site... and they seem to be working very well.
Fish Oil = depression, brain stimulation, healthy heart.
B6 = helps out with both the vertigo and mood swings.
For leg pain, take magnesium and potasium

I've read that Benadryl and Dramamine help with the brain zaps, but I haven't needed to try those yet, since the Lorazepam also takes care of that.

Sorry if I got carried away. One of the things I like to do, is find "remedies" for the physical and mental problems I have, so I can get off of all of the medications I'm on.
I have a lot more, but thought I should stop in case no one is in to these kinds of things.

I plan to continue doing all of these natural remedies after I'm totally off of the Cymbalta since I've read that some people still have withdrawal symptoms even after the have stopped the drug.

I hope you can find some relief.

Thanks for the reply.... I have been taking benedryl or dramamine which helps too... Sometimes I have to take Phenergan (I have a left over prescription)...

I'm trying to increase my exercise, since exercise is the best medicine....

This morning, I feel ok ... Thinking about hitting the gym :)

I am 4 months off of Cymbalta and I am experiencing the worst driving anxiety ever! I love to drive!! Now I can't even go the short distance into our small town, it's approx. an 8 minute drive..... I have been like this for a month now and it is really starting to frustrate me, I feel like a huge part of my life is missing... I can't go anywhere, or do anything unless I can find a ride, it's starting to make me feel like it will never get better. I had a close call driving a month ago. It was raining, I was driving by myself and out on the high way. I kept having these panic attacks and was freaking out!!! They were happening like every 2 minutes, I couldn't get it under control!! I finally got a family member to answer their phone and just talk to me, to try and help....it did after about 10 minutes of being on the phone, but I was terrified!!

I started Cymbalta for anxiety purposes 3 1/2 years ago. Now the anxiety is back and it's ruining my life!!! I don't know how to get over this hump.

Any one else ever deal with this????

Please Help!!
