NO Matter what drug you are prescribed or why... please do your OWN research... Not to say don't listen to what others have gone through or their opinions or thoughts...do indeed because it can shed light on things you might need to look at... but make sure that you have looked at a BIG variety of places to come to a conclusion. I know it isn't easy... believe me I know...
I say this because i cringe every time someone mentions that lexapro helped them through withdrawals. I want to run screaming to tell people don't take it... but I try not to. I hold that back because all I can base that on is my exsperiance... and it may help some without the damage it did to me... so I don't want to discourage people from trying something they feel will help (especially when it might!) but I don't want people to be unwarned that it can do harm too.
I guess I'm trying to say - take the time to weight the pros and cons and do what you feel best for you.... be aware of what the outcomes can be... and be prepared for the worst (that way when the best happens you can just enjoy but if not you aren't blindsided...)
I certainly am not trying to step on toes.... please please don't take this that way... I just had to get that off my chest, I know for a fact drug companies often don't tell doctors about possible side effects, and I know that sometimes they are misled, or sometimes honestly are hoping it won't do that to their patients... But an uninformed patient is the one most hurt...
Just please be careful out there!
