It all depends on the mg you were taking and how long you were taking cymbalta.
Either way, from what I am reading... it will take from a few weeks to a few months.
From my withdraw, the worst was week 1-4. I took 60 mg/day for 5 years.
I am almost 2 months completely off cymbalta and the effects are "almost" none. Still have some bad days.
There are many things written in this forum that people have tried for the withdraw symptoms:
Any where from starting low dose prozac for a few months then having doctor wean you off that to
over the counter benadryl or dramamine to
Over the counter supplements to
holistic approaches
Good luck... We are here for you !!!

How long can the withdraw from this medicine continue? I am off from work until January 3rd, and on day 3 without any Cymbalta. Day 2, Christmas Day was awful; I spent most of the day in bed sleeping because of the vertigo and nausea. Today was bad, but I was able to manage my day running errands, making dinner, and doing laundry although I feel disconnected from my body. I feel okay as long as I don't turn my head using my neck I am not dizzy. Driving was okay as long as I could drive without coming to any intersections, I even maneuvered the grocery story (sick and dizzy the entire time). Does it get better each day? I absolutely need to regain my faculties before I return to work, but most importantly I need to be able to care for my family; 5 year old son.
It does get better each day. I had dizziness and nausea about 7-10 days. that has gotten better, just occasional now. what came next was an all-over achy feeling that feels like you have really worked out, or are coming down with the flu. Just remember what it all is, push thru, and it will get better. Read some of the things others have done to help with these symptoms. I am drinking water (sometimes with lemon), taking Omega 3 and 5 HTP supplements, along with a multi vitamin and my Osteo Bi-Flex for my joints. Also taking melatonin at night for sleep. some have said they tried Benadryl for sleep, also cause they felt "itchy". Gather as much info as you can, and let your family know what is going on so they can help you. Hope you feel better soon.

To feelincrappy:
I have not yet tried to come off of it however Im studyin up before i attempt it knowing how i felt when i missed a dose was bad enough. So here's what I've gathered from other posts been reading for a while now.... Seems as if most decrease dose (if possible) some said down to 30 everyother day other say its a nighmare that way. What I HAVE SEEN REPEATEDLY IS get benadryl for the "off" feeling in your head and as other person posted a low dose of Prozac 20 mg recommended BUT NOT FOR A MONTH OR TWO.... Many success stories after ONE PILL if one doesnt settle it take a 2nd the next day. I also wamt to add it says its extremely important to take med at same time daily when tapering off. Good luck and ill be praying for you
