I am ABSOLUTELY miserable. I am on day 6 without Cymbalta and have been desperately looking for a solution to this god forsaken nightmare. Here's the scoop... I am 31 and was RX'd 30MG of Cymbalta for 2 months for depression along with 1 MG Xanax as needed. Without consulting my doctor, I decided, I wanted to be completely clean and of a sober mind for the coming new year (Cold Turkey).
Since stopping the Cymbalta, here's what I am going through (From worst symptoms to least):
1. Head zaps - Feels like I am continually getting shocked in my brain throughout the day. It makes me feel crazy.
2. When I close my eyes, they won't stop buzzing around making it impossible to get any real rest. I feel like I am about to start convulsing.
3. Every time I stand up, I am extremely light headed and feel like I am going to faint. This was so bad I almost stared thinking I was anemic and not enough oxygen was getting through my blood (Until I found others with similar withdraw symptoms).
4. Extremely irritable and unmotivated to do anything but watch TV.
Looking back only after 6 days clean, I should have kept at least the Xanax to help me sleep but now I can't get a RX for another 16 days.... UGH!
Needless to say, I am a 31 year old male with 25 BMI, average build with no prior medical conditions...
Just for record keeping purposes, The following are recreational drugs used in the past with lesser withdraw symptoms than Cymbalta (Pretty scary):
Alcohol - 2 weeks of feeling depressed (walk in the park compared to Cymbalta)
XTC - 3 days of similar brain zaps.
Oxycotin - Bad craving for the same drug lasted a few days.
Cocaine - Hated the experience, high anxiety coming down for about 6 hours.
Furthermore, what's even shittier about Cymbalta, is that not only do I feel like shit only 6 days off the damn drug, it doesn't have a generic version so it's extremely expensive. IF YOU HAVE NOT STARTED THIS DRUG... PLEASE, DO YOURSELF A FAVOR & LOOK FOR ALTERNATIVES.
IF YOU ARE IN HALF AS MUCH PAIN I AM IN... GOD BLESS YOUR SOUL & GOOD LUCK.
I will keep you posted.
