hi i have been trying to wean off cymbalta. i am about two months in first i went from 60 mg everyday to every other day then , when i felt ok there , i went from every other day to every three days. i have no motivation to do anything. or anything i do do i hardly ever enjoy. i feel lifeless , like there is so much i want to accomplish and i wont. is it normal to have absolutely no zeal while doing this?
even though i know exercising will help my symptoms i dont even have the discipline to go for a walk.

Hi.. I have weaned myself off of Cymbalta-hell in a pill- I gained 35 pounds(yes 35 pounds in 6 months!), had no interest in ANYTHING! I too was on 60 a day since September 2011, i decided last week to take myself off before visiting my GP (which was yesterday)due to the fact I became a recluse/hermit to all. I could care less-but not suicidal. I went from 60 to 30 for one week only(last week). I have dizzy spells, upset stomach, hot flashes and cold flashes. "brain zaps" yes, they are getting better. I will gladly take the withdrawl symptoms over the effect of Cymbalta towards me anyday! Stay hydrated, read, anything to keep your mind healthy occupied. Quick note: prior to Cymbalta I was on Lexapro for 14 months with NO problems. The new doc said Cymbalta would help with menopause symptoms hence reasoning for changing. Good luck and God Bless!

We are in the same boat, friend. I, too, started the wean regiment nearly two months ago from 60mg. I was down to the 20's two weeks ago (almost time to quit says the doctor) and have noticed the "peak" of withdraws. So after two weeks of 20's, Ive decided to play science-man and get close to 10mg/day. When I notice symptoms, I quickly try to take 10mg and wait it out . It has been as successful as I could have hope for.

For me, lack of interest and lack of libido has been the most frustrating. Second place goes to the spontaneous emotional outbursts/intense emotional flushes. I seem to be hypersensitive to everything and dont have interest to do anything, even sex.

A headache (sometimes feels like pressure) frequently occurs, so advil/aleeve/IBpro are my skittles, along with fish oil/multi-v/B complex as a daily regiment.

As far as exercise, I feel you. I have tried to stay motivated to work up a sweat but its just not there. I have been going to the steam room here and there and that seems to help a little.

We can grind through this!! I really dont think it will last much longer :)
