Hi have been taking Cymbalta for about 9 months. I have been problems with anemia. I am tired/weak, not energy. I really want to get off this drug. I know I am going to have bad withdrawal symptoms but am wondering if I should just take it on cold turkey...anyone else done that?

I was originally prescribed this awful med about 3 years ago, about a year after it came on the market. I started on 30mg, and soon went up to 60mg daily. I have bipolar 2 and had learned that antideppresants can actually cause bipolar symptoms to become worse, and irreversibly worse. So I went to my doc and asked to be taken off.
I went from 60mg daily, to 30mg daily, to 30mg every other day. This took me months to do, as I suffered withdrawal symptoms every step of the way. Just 14 days ago, I went off completely. I have the usual, most common withdrawals described on this site.
It's a scary thing, but it can be done. I know I'm only 14 days out, but I believe I can do this thing. There are a lot of success stories here to give you hope. And you may be one of the ones that don't have withdrawals, or have them very minimally.
About the anger: Yeah.......I love it when these asses throw meds out on the market, and we get to be the lab rats. Hell, when I've brought these withdrawal issues to my doctor, he won't even talk about it. He listens, nods his head, but won't say a word. THAT pisses me off. He won't even validate what I'm going thru. And I don't believe for one second that he isn't aware. (Yea...I know I need a new doc)
