I've been on Cymbalta for about 4 months. It made me feel so "normal". I felt like I use to, before I started having bouts of depression in my 20's. It was amazing to feel happy and social. When I am depressed, I am withdrawn, irritable, sad, etc.. I was originally optimistic despite the weight gain. But, not its 4 mths later and I have gained about 25-30lbs. I can't take it. I use to weigh 255 lbs, and it was HARD to lose the weight. When I started Cymbalta I weight 152. Now I weigh 180. That is depressing in itself. I also take Wellnbutrin and I did take Prozac before I started Cymbalta. So, I decided to quit Cymbalta. I started 2 weeks ago. I began taking out about 10 pellets on day one. (I didn't realize there were 200 pellets per capsule. I thought 60mg meant 60 capsules) I did this for 2 days. Then I took out 20 pellets and so on. I did this for a week, then decided to count all the pellets in a capsule, I was very surprised to find 200 pellets. So my inital weaning off was not very extreme. Once I realized this, I took 100 pellets out, to knock me down to 30mg. I did this 2 days. Then I went down to 20mg for 2 days. Then I went down to 10mgs for 2 days. During this last week of weaning, I did take a 20mg Prozac. I've read that combining Prozac while weaning off CYmbalta helps alot. So far, I have had some mild hot flashes. I have had an upset stomach a few times. I had one brain zap. Today is my first full 24hours off Cymbala completely. Because the withdrawal effects have been so easy, I am scared of what may come. I have read that some people don't get the terrible withdrawal effects until a week after they stop Cymbalta. To help with this, I am going to continue 20mg Prozac for a couple days. I will keep you updated. So far so good, butI could be in for some major upset:)

Please keep me posted on how you are doing. I'm scared to death to stop taking this stuff. I've gained about 25 pounds and have no libido.

Dont forget to try the benadryl. Singulair has helped immensely with my withdrawal symptoms. I dont take prozac though.

Cookee, I took it for a month and it KILLED my libido. Ive been off it almost a month and its finally starting to come back.

I have not taken any Cymbalta in 5 days. I feel pretty OK. I have been slightly more agitated, but it could also just be PMS. i do take Singular for asthma, I didn't know this could help with withdrawal. I only took the Prozac for 2 days after stopping the C. I have had some slight stomach pains, not like PMs cramps, but nothing unbearable. I have had minor dizziness all week. Nothing that interfered with my day. It only happens maybe 5x a day and its just with quick movement of my head. I can NOT wait to lose some of this weight gained. I can't wait to get my libido back, but probably not as much as my husband:-) I have been petrified of the withdrawal effects, plus I am worried about how this will affect my depression. C has made me happy, I have felt normal, its been great. I loved waking up knowing how I would feel. With my depression, I never knew how my mood would be every day. I will keep you updated, cuz I know some people said withdrawal effects didn't hit them til 1-2weeks after stopping C.
