Well I am weaning myself off the Cymbalta by opening 30mg capsules and counting the little balls inside (there are 290 to 305 in these ones) and reducing the dose. I am now taking 15mg daily and will reduce this over the next month or two. While I have plenty of the drug (balls), I am going to run out of capsules to use! My first thought was to use some paracetamol capsules (they're cheap) and replace the paracetamol with the Cymabalta.

BUT reading into the situation I have learnt that the Cymbalta capsules are 'Gastro-Resistant' meaning that they do not open up in the stomach but further along in the intestine as I understand it. I'm not sure if the Paracetamol capsules are too (they do not mention being Gastro-resistant). Will I be running into problems if the drug is released into the stomach?

I'd really like to hear what have others done when opening up the capsules? Can you even buy 'empties' anywhere (Im in the UK btw).

Reading more of this forum (There is so much here, which is great) I see that quite a few people have used clear gelitane capsules for weaning off. Still a little concerned as to how important the Gastro-resistance is for the capsules though.
