I just don't feel right....

I have pain that I never had before taking cymbalta.
I seem to stay in a panic state.

I just hope this isn't forever...

Just a side note.... I did start low dose prozac (20 mg/d)

I dont feel right either.
I have RAGE.
ANGER..at EVERYTHING!

I have bad brain zaps..they had stoped while I was weaning.

Im afraid to go out.. afraid I will lose it at the checker, when she asks me a simple question.

I honestly thought I would be fine...I do still believe in the EASTER BUNNY TOO!!!!!!!!!!!

How long have you been off cymbalta? I was most afraid of the physical withdrawal symptoms, but the rage is by far the worst. I tell myself to recognize it and control it before it happens, but it comes on so quick... Am I going to be an A-Hole forever?

I've read some ppl say that they had problems long term but you can't think that way. I mean everything in life is by chance and even if you do have a chance at long term problems its too late now. I've had worries exactly the same but I can't undo the past. I put my focus on things I can control and can change. Take all that bottled up emotion and pour it into educating every person you see that is thinking of an antidepressant. Tell them to stay away and tell your doctor what it's done to you so they stop putting new patients on it. If your life had been ruined use that rage to document everything that has happened to you and report it to the FDA, local newspaper, or even a simple online community like this. Those are the types of things I am doing to redirect the feelings I'm having mb it might help u too.

I've been off cymbalta completely for 8 weeks and am still dealing with symptoms. Debilitating pain, bouts of nausea and GI distress, unstable mood and feeling like I have no patience are the main things still plaguing me.

Hi
Just wondering if you all went cold turkey or did the weaning off slowly thing.
It may sound bizarre but I have been doing meditation for 15 min a day to a meditation cd and its pretty amazing how the breathing calms your whole system.
Just a thought!! Also there is a product called Rescue Remedy with is homeopathic for anxiety and trauma you may want to google it.

I weaned off of it the way my doctor told me to. I actually have weaned off of it three different times over the almost 7 years I took it. I hated it si much, but my counselor scared me into going back on it. She told me that each successive depressive episode would be worst than the one before it. She made me think I was going to commit suicide in the future if I didn't stay on it. Im pretty sure most of my anxiety and depression have been caused by my thyroid disease, so I hate that I was treated for symptoms instead of the root cause. I've gone all-natural, so I'll definitely look into the Rescue Remedy. Thank you for the suggestion! My husband and I both went vegan, gluten-free, whole foods, and are using natural products after I went through so much going off cymbalta. Ive also been doing yoga for a year, and it is the best for immediate back pain relief. I just wish it kept the pain away for more than a few hours. It's only been two months on our new diet and natural products, so I'm still in the healing process. I'm just hoping the pain and irritability will go away soon. Good luck to you with your healing too!

My doctor made it out to be no big deal. She said I should wean in only a month. After finding out how no possible that is I did a much slower weaning process over several months. I'm on day 23 and I feel WAY better than I did week one. Hang in there.

I weaned off gradually over a month as my dr suggested and I didn't have any major problems

However, over 1 yr later I have constant burning and aching pain all over my body. Tingling extremities. I have been dx with fibro. Actually I was dx with fibro when on cymbalta. And since weaning off, the pain has spread to an all over flu like body ache that never leaves me.

Am interested to hear if anyone else has had this experience or if it is just a coincidence since I have had other physical stuff happen in the past 2 1/2 years.

Kim 1969,
Did the flu-like aches not start until a year after you went off cymbalta? Or did they start sooner? How long did you take cymbalta?

I Took cymbalta for 3 mOnths and the pain started maybe a month after I stopped. I am not sure if it's related to be honest because I had so many health issues (and still do). It's great to be off cymbalta tho! No more crazy whole body spasms and more.

I have had the constant body aches for about 1 year now and drs tell me I have fibromyalgia and that the treatment is cymbalta! Hence I am feeling quite down.

Wow, I'm do sorry you are going through that. I'm dealing with the body aches, too, but I never had anything like it before I went on Cymbalta. I've read that going back on an SSRI should stop the pain, but I really don't want to go back on an anti-depressant again. I went off cymbalta along with my other medications because I'm trying a more natural approach to my health. I'm considering taking rhodiola or 5-HTP, but I am still researching them. I hope things get better for you. I know it's scary and frustrating.

Yeah, it does! I've been doing that and exercising daily. It helps for a few hours. I actually read that SSRI withdrawals cause an anticholinergic rebound effect and that taking lecithin and choline help. I started taking both two days ago, and I have noticed a difference already. I'm starting to feel more like myself again, and am no longer thinking about possibly having to go back on antidepressants. I am almost 10 weeks completely off cymbalta now :).
