Almost a week off of cymbalta after a short weaning and adding prozac here and there. For a day or two, I felt better then I have in a long time. Now, I don't even know myself. EVERYTHING makes me incredibly angry. RAGE. Anything anybody says annoys me and I flip out. After yelling at my wife, niece, mother, and everybody else that crossed my path, I broke down and took a cymbalta. Now I feel like a failure and a bad person. Just when I think I'm beating this drug.... I'm starting to wonder if I'd be better staying on this crap. I don't know what to do. Don't have money to see a doc. I can't live with this rage. I'll suffer through the brain zaps, but this rage...

We just woke up. I feel normal today, but I did take a pill yesterday. I don't want to be mad today. I never thought I would be scared to live life because of anger and rage. I don't want to be mean to my family.

Felt like crap all day... Then I started drinking. That really helps. Physical symptoms were washed away. Rage was downgraded to a mild annoyance.

Hey madness....I'm on day 6 no cymbalta and so far I've flipped out on just about everyone. If u slip up and take a pill ur not a failure. It's hell to get off this crap. There are days like I'm having today where I too want to take a pill. But I just tell myself I will only prolong it all if I do. I find the best thing to do is actually give the link to this site to close family and friends so they can read and learn that u don't mean it and see how incredibly hard this is. Once I did that then ppl understood my rage ALOT better and it seems that now that they know what to expect and see how common it is they handle it differently and don't take it personal. Keep trying and hang in there.

Just tape a sign on your chest that says you may errupt with anger for any reason (with lots of arrows pointing at your head). Add some humor to the situation, because you may feel alone but your whole family is withdrawing right along with you. If they all know what's going on it will ease some of the hurt they may feel after a "Volcanic Erruption" . I have posted Warning Signs on my Bedroom door. I very politely ask people to just stay clear or suffer the WRATH. (It's like my brain just doesn't want to deal with the everyday and explodes with verbal RAGE and all the symptoms). Sooo... I get online and talk to people who are going through the same thing. So hang in there, I'm hoping we all get better soon! :P

That really is not a bad idea. A constant reminder to those around me to not poke the bear with a stick. Thx

I first weaned for a week and a half, and then totally stopped. At that point I added prozac. It's been two weeks since then. I have taken that one pill, plus I broke one open and took half. Withdrawal symptoms are getting to be further apart. Some days are better then others. Like others on this site, I am starting to feels pains that weren't there while on cymbalta.

Just wanted to reinforce that you are not alone.

I have been in a $#!t mood for weeks coming off this crap. I find being alone is about the only way I can be cool headed. Talking to my doc again Monday about next steps to control this since eI have been off Cymbalta for 40 days now. I will let you know of anything that sounds promising.

Good luck.

Today is day day 9 no cymbalta and I feel better actually! I missed alot of work but I made it thru. Days 0-3 got progressively worse, days 3-6 were so bad I couldn't get out of bed. But by day 7 I was able to get until abou 6pm without feeling like crap. Today I felt good all day until about 7ish.... By this I mean the shivers zaps vertigo nausea pain etc is gone most of the day! Don't get me wrong all day I feel tired and still very very bitchy lol BUT I will take a day full of rage over all that stuff anyday!

Have an appointment today at 1 to go over next steps with this issue. I will email any news or results I feel might help others here.

Appointment went well. They started me on a low dose of Abilify taken at night. They diagnosed me after a few hours of conversation with boarder line Bi-Polar disorder. I took my wife along with me as a third party to help with my moods from another perspective as to ensure it wasn't all in my head.

She does have a goal to level me off with this drug and ween me onto something to manage my depression. Something not as harsh, but we will see.

I will keep you informed of how this does with my anger nd mood swings as the week goes on. Just took my first dose and am about to sleep....or not, who knows.
