Hey guys,

Sooooo I was on 90mgs, and am down to 60mgs now and am just about to start the decrease to 30mgs in the next week.

I was REALLY sick (e.g. basically in bed/in front of the tv the whole time) for about 4-5 days when decreasing to the 60mgs... And was sick on and off for another week or so after.

For the first couple of days of the decrease, I was craving sugar, carbs etc a lot. But since then I've basically had NO appetite. I did have a bit of nausea while I was sick with withdrawals but nothing too bad. I just am not hungry and no food interests me! I normally have a VERY healthy appetite but the thought of food at the moment just makes me feel sick. I've basically been living off dry biscuits and vegemite (I'm Australian... obviously). I have put quite a lot of weight on since being on cymbalta (and the other antidepressants I've been on before cymbalta) so I am wondering if the meds were making me obsessively hungry and what I have now is more of a "normal" appetite?

Has anyone else had this happen?

The only thing is that I think my last appointment with my pdoc, I mentioned that I had no appetite and this was just before I started going off my meds... So I am wondering if there is something underlying going on too? :(

Any thoughts?

Hay Mate,
Yes, I gained 50 lbs. I drank my diet most days. I felt as though I had to have sugar or I could not function. I have tried several things that may help you. See my new post Natural Intervention for more details but I had to force feed myself for about a week. After that my body started wanting to eat. Try eating at the same time everyday, 3 squares and two snacks and drink a lot of water. Good luck, Jessica

Thanks Jessica,
Feeling a bit better now... But still don't have much of an appetite. I'm able to eat a bit more now though. But it seems as though I have no tastebuds! I had a REALLY sweet cereal the other morning which is normally INTENSELY sweet (it's basically full of honey), but to me it tasted like cardboard! It was SO weird. And even chicken is tasting really bland at the moment! Ugh. But I am still like sugar... A... LOT! I'm really hoping once I completely come off the cymbalta, I'll be able to readjust my diet and get back into eating really healthy - but I really think at the moment I just need to eat what I can when I can. And if that involves lots of sugar than so be it (unfortunately).
Thursday I drop down to 30mgs (I'm alternating between 60mgs and 30 mgs at the moment). I've taken Fri-Mon off work (so hoping withdrawals are worse on those days!) and I'm actually going down the coast to visit a friend - I thought a seachange might do me good. :) Walks along the beach, sea animals... Sounds really good! :D
I've been REALLY tired lately. My energy levels are non-existant. I've been working a lot but once I come home from work I basically collapse. :(
Just want this cymbalta out of my system!
Hope you are doing okay, Jessica. :)
