I have been taking Cymbalta for over 2 years (60mg) and decided to get off. I had no idea it would be this tough. This is not fun. I feel so nervous inside. I have been taking the Omega 3 and drinking tons of water. My doctor put me on 30mg for 2 weeks and then nothing. Geez!! It has been almost three weeks. When does it get better? I feel helpless and just want to be left alone on the side of a mountain some where. Is there a normal life after cymbalta!

Glad I found this forum. I was beginning to think it was just me. I was even thinking about going back on the Cymbalta just to make this all go away but no thanks. I am throwing away what I have left and will get past this no matter what. Thanks for the support. I really need it!!

Yea, and the commercials make you think this is the best anti-depressant ever. I can't say it didn't help me but now I wonder if it was worth it at all. I will do so much more research on any other drug I use in the future. Lessons to be learned but what a trip!!!

Laws, I know what your saying but....do yourself a favor & hang onto what you have left ! Some of us on here jumped the gun on that one & were way sorry. You might want to try a different method other than cold turkey...like Catherine's Taper method. I works well , once you throw them away(please dispose of them the right way) they are gone. It can't do you any harm just setting in the bottle.
If you want to know about Catherine's Taper Scledule just google that phrase.

There isn't anything "normal" about getting mixed up with this drug ;) I know what your saying tho! I wasn't hungry the entire time I took the garbage. Now that it's getting out of my system my appitite is returning. The way our brains have been scrambled it probably makes sense your having this kind of reaction. I don't think anyone knows just what all Cymbalta does or how, in my opinion we're all paying Eli Lilly for the priviledge of being thier lab rats!

I have been Cymbalta free for 3 weeks now! I am still nervous and uncomfortable feeling but seems every day is a little better then the day before. My mornings start off well and as the day progesses my dull headache starts and the nervousness sets in. How long do the very strange dreams last? I got some of the Body Calm Supreme to help with sleep and it has. I would recommend using that. But the night mares are way out there some times. Why don't they do more studies on this drug???? Wow, I am still amazed at how horrible this has been. And to think I took it to help calm my anxiety. Never again!!

I have been Cymbalta free for 4 weeks now and I am really beginning to feel somewhat normal. It has been a real rollercoaster ride but there is hope. I talked to my doc yesterday and he just asks shocked that I had so much trouble. I know it is not just me! He even suggested going on another anti-depressant. I am not sure I ever want to do that again. Not saying I won't have to but right now I want to see what the world is like without being on anything. Wish me luck!

Thanks Greybeard! You have no idea how many times I have thought about your encouragement. So many lessons learned and more to be learned. I spoke with my doctor and he said that about 50% of anti-depressant users have to go back on them and that is ok but I will not take Cymbalta again. Right now I am going to try to be in the 50% that does not go back and take life as best I can. Time will tell. Will take your advice and watch the diet and stressers!!
