Why did I feel great for the first few days on 20mgs prozac and today went to shit?? Dizzy and down all day, crying...you know the routine. I guess i am fearing hubby going on the trip to China, and my daughter and her hubby are going to be gone for a whole day and a half!! I count on them when hubby is not here and now i am going to be facing time completely alone, I am afraid since I don't know what each day is going to bring. I see my head doc tomorrow, maybe he can get my head straight with this.

Thank you Bobbie..
I will keep you in mind for sure if I feel really bad, all I can do is take it one day at a time I guess and not assume that the day they are gone is going to be a bad one. But, dammit! I am selfish and I want everyday to be a good one. The prozac is weird, it sometimes makes the day good and then like today I was a complete emotional wreck, frozen like a deer in head lights, panicked, super dizzy, depressed. I have hubby home all day tomorrow, so that will be nice, he takes really good care of me, I am very blessed by the "god" of husband pickers..lol
Thanks again,
Jenny

Perhaps 20 mgs of Prozac is not strong enough for you right now. I'm not sure what dose of Cymbalta you were on when you stopped, but if it was a high dose (or if you were ever on a high dose) you probably need a higher Prozac dosage to compensate and avoid withdrawal symptoms. My dr told me I could increase to 40mgs if the 20 wasn't giving me relief. You may need to up your dose for a couple of weeks to get you through the roughest part of withdrawal and then taper down to 20 after that. Beware that if you do increase the Prozac, you will likely experience some form of a mania feeling; maybe slightly manic, maybe a lot manic.

Also, during my first 2 wks on the Prozac,I did have a few days that felt like "backsliding" days. On those days, I would feel yucky, but my withdrawal symptoms were not near as bad as before I took the Prozac. Even with the Prozac, it still took about 1-2 wks for my emotions to feel stablized.

So, hang in there! Just think how bad it would be if you werent on the Prozac!! You will feel better soon!
