I was put on Cymbalta in April of this year for depression.
My doc reassured me it was the least likely of anti-depressants to cause weight gain.
RIIIIIGHT.
I called my doctor 2 weeks ago asking if there was something else we could try because I had gained 20 lbs since she put me on the Cymbalta!!!
So she suggested Wellbutrin.
Well, I would have thought she would have transistioned me gradually from Cymbalta to Wellbutrin, but I stopped the Cymbalta cold and started the Wellbutrin.
This was on the following Tuesday.
Come that Friday I was feeling pretty "flu-ish". Saturday and Sunday I was going downhill and last week I missed 4 days of work because I was very ill.
I felt like I had a fever but the thermometer only read 96-97 degrees, I had chills, aches, nausea and a very dry, unproductive cough. I swore I had pneumonia.
My doctor was out of town so I stuck it out.
Today I am better although still dragging. My husband SWEARS I was having a withdrawal from the Cymbalta.
BTW I stopped the Wellbutrin too as it was tearing up my stomach.
Any input? Could these symptoms had really been withdrawal from the Cymbalta?
Thanks.
