PS...Thank you, Tria! Ordered the scale off Amazon...maybe I can manage to get that conquered rather than this 'bean counting!'

FN...I believe the brand and generic are totally different! The brand seems to have leveled out some of the awful symptoms I was experiencing with the pellets in the generic. More mind games!

CymSik - This will be a quick post... I am off to the dentist for oral surgery... oh joy! But I'm having it done w/ sedation and toradol (for my other medical problems) in an IV so hopefully it won't wipe me out too much!  But if I don't post for a while, you all will know why.

Anyway, CymSik, Good luck with the scale. If you want, I will post step-by-step instructions on the system I've come up with for using the scale.  It may seem a bit daunting at first, but you'll get the hang of it once you experiment with it a little!  I've tried to come up with things that make those darn teeny beads easy to manage!  I like the Mexican jumping description, very appropriate!  Post here and let me know if you'd like me to write up the instructions.  Because of my dental work, It may take me several days (or a week), but I'll be more than happy to do it!!!

Wish I could post more today but off to the dentist I must go.  Anxiety kicking in and I've taken the last Xanax I can before the procedure :(  Oh well, I'm sure I will be fine.  Worried about it aggravating the neuralgia in my face, my headaches and my muscle pain but the anesthesiologist assured he can manage it during the procedure and at least for a little while afterward, I should have some relief.  Cross your fingers for me everyone!

I need help...i am very scared and depressed...

Yesterday and today I have felt the worst since first going from 60 to 30..So damn dizzy with weak limbs so i need to lay down...I am on day 35 on 30 mg of the poison and 20 mg Celexa in AM and 20 at bedtime.

I've tried dramamine and i'm taking omega 3's...I am at my wits end because I can't drive and therefore don't have a social life anymore...

I'm feeling near suicidal due to this and need your support and prayers please...thank you!

Hang in there, IBS.....this is the withdrawal....60 to 30 was a huge, sharp drop....like cold turkey....and you're crossing over to the celexa....I can't speak to the celexa part...but the weak and dizzy part sounds like our "friend" serotonin ...lack thereof...causing you problems....

You should not even be thinking of driving or socializing...you aren't safe to drive...you do not need to risk an accident...hurting yourself would be bad enuf, hurting someone else would be devastating....

.your only "assignment" for today is to stay in bed or on the sofa....don't try to "accomplish" anything....just resting is the only thing to "accomplish" today...and maybe also tomorrow.....yes, you are feeling weak and dizzy....I hated the dizzy more than almost anything...

This is just another step towards getting off the poison...it will pass...I guarantee it will pass....

Take the Dramamine at the regular intervals allowed, and don't move around....

Here are some things that seemed to help me weather the dizzy spells.....

Keeping lights low or even off, darkened room....

Drink lots of liquids...water is best, but I couldn't stand it plain when dizzy so I made chamomile or ginger tea....or yogi detox tea....or watered down fruit juice....

Ginger...ginger root, small slice chewed or held under nose, ginger tea, ginger ale....even the ginger spice powder, licked it off palm of my hand

A teaspoon of mustard...yes, mustard...the strong stuff, like grey poupon worked best for me....

Apple cider vinegar....a tbsp or two in a glass of cool water....

Ice packs on temples, wrists, back of neck and solar plexus.....

I didn't have Dramamine, so I tried NyQuil....it helped me a lot, and helped me drift right to sleep or a nap....DO NOT take both NyQuil and Dramamine....

IBS - how are you doing?  Hang in there, you will get your life back!! 60 to 30 does seem like a big drop.  I was only on 40 for a short time, went to 30 then to 20 with not a lot of problems (although I had some symptoms, they were attributed to other medical problems but I now think they were definitely Cymbalta withdrawal).  It was when I started weaning off the 20mg that I had worsening symptoms and we (me and my mom) started doing research on Cymbalta and found out all the problems withdrawal can cause.  FN had some great advice!  Keep reminding yourself these feelings (physical and emotional) are from the withdrawal and they WILL pass.  I know it doesn't seem like it, but they will!! Take care of yourself as best you can, and allow yourself to do whatever makes you feel better.  I bought a few tv shows on DVDs and will spend the entire day (or days) on the couch watching them.  It seems to distract my mind from the awful thoughts. At first, I felt like a big slug doing this, but if it's what I need to do to get thru this, it's not a big deal.  I'm sure once I'm off this crap and get feeling more normal, I won't want to watch tv 8 hours a day!  Sending good thoughts & prayers your way.......

CymSik - Don't see any new posts from you here but I haven't gotten to many other topics yet.  Only skipped reading the forum for a few days and feel like I'm way behind!  Didn't weather my oral surgery as well as I'd hoped but it could have been worse as well, so I won't complain.  Wondering how you are doing?  Let us know when you can.

Hello withdrawal friends,

I am dumbfounded why the side effects change from one to another every day, without rhyme or reason.

Today i am not nearly as dizzy but feel like I have been hit by a truck...the severe exhaustion has kept me bedridden all day...weird because i felt fine when i woke up, then i took the cymbalta and celexa...this is the first time this has happened to me.

Is this normal? Anyone else experience this??

Tomorrow is D day..with my doctor...i hope I will be able to drive...and am open to suggestions as to what I should suggest about how I want to start weaning from 30 mg...

In August I"m going on a cruise and refuse to have the dizziness reappear.

Thanks in advance for your support and kind words...

FN, Tria...THANK you for your kind words of support...I didn't see your replies until now...

I haven't been very supportive because my plate is full living with my disabled mom...it nearly puts me into a rage to have another needy person under the roof...so i took another week off and I'm thankful to God for leading me to do it.
The suidical thoughts are gone and my mood is near perfect. This is awesome, then bam, another symptom...

But thankfully we have each other and the vast knowledge on this site is wonderful.

I hope the two of you are feeling better today...let me know, ok?

IBS, taking another week off is the best thing you could, can, do for yourself!

As far as weaning from the 30, I'm the queen of cold turkey, so my suggestions aren't what I'd rely on....that said, hahahahaha.....here's what I'd suggest.....bead count...sloooowly.....even one bead at a time if you need to...or, drop a couple beads and wait a couple days before dropping again....those here who know from experience, consistently remind us that the lower the dose the more difficult the symptoms may get....

And as I continue to learn, also the hard way, most docs don't have uny understanding of how hard it is to get off this drug...or even acknowledge a hard withdrawal at all....

So, were on our own often in terms of figuring out how to get off it....well, we've got us here, this forum, so no, we're not on our own really...just may not have our docs on our team, so to speak.....

Also, you've got all of July in which to continue your healing before your cruise....don't push yourself too hard or too fast...I think that could make it harder for you, not easier....

A cruise....oh, how lovely that sounds....I'd love to just sit in a deck chair and watch the shoreline recede and look at the ocean....

IBS - a week off sounds like a good idea.  Anything you can do to reduce any stress will help.  I am in serious need of time off from work.  As I wrote in another post, our office only has 4 people and no one knows how to do anyone else's job all that well.  So it's hard to truly get time off without being bothered by some questions.  I only work about 8 or 10hrs a week but really need a week or two totally off work.  I know it will do wonders for my stress level.  I have to talk to my boss about it.  She's been great, just have to convince her she can get along without me!

The side effects are so unpredictable.  I was doing better than I had in a long time, then the past 2 days I've felt miserable - bad headache, cranky, wanting to cry, restless.  Not horrible side effects like I've had before but bad enough, and they come along with that "I just don't feel right" feeling, if that makes sense.  My head isn't clear, I can't focus, I can't rest, I feel like I am babbling on here.  Work has been busy which isn't helping, I haven't had a day this week where I could just completely rest.  I'm supposed to work only 2 afternoons a week but I've been working at home a lot, which sometimes ends up like being "on call', like this week.  I just want some time when there is zero work hanging over my head! Oh well, sorry for the complaining.  Hopefully my mind will start to calm down and I will sleep well tonite.... one can hope!

tria - I wish you the best - you really need that time off!  Rest and no stress will help you to relieve the anxiety, which I know is the worst.  I have suffered from it  more recently than ever in my life and it's driving me crazy!  It interferes with sleep and just sneaks up on me and about knocks me out.  I do take Alprazolam, but don't like relying on it in order to sleep.

Waking up with anxiety and my mind whirling and heart pounding happens often.  I wonder how long this will go on, but all I can do is go with the flow.

Love, hugs and prayers for you,

Liz

IBS

Happy for you getting some time off.  I still have a hard time understanding how you folks can work and go through this hell.  Talk about added stress!

Just taking care of your mom must be a strain right now. I continue to keep all on this forum in my thoughts and prayers..

May you get the rest your poor body needs to recover.

hugs and prayers to all of you

Thanks TFL!  Along with the anxiety, I just have a constant feeling of stress lately. I definitely need time to just zone out.   Much as I'd like to keep reading and posting tonite, I am signing off and heading for the couch.  A little tv usually distracts my mind and gets me to sleep, probably along with a Xanax tonite though.  I don't like to rely on it to sleep either, but have to take it sometimes.  Can feel the panic creeping up and up, and well that's what it's for, right?!  Need to watch my sleep habits too, not been getting enough sleep lately.  And less sleep and fatigue definitely equals more stress and anxiety for me.  Be well, and good nite!

FH - thanks for asking!

Most days are good, but have occasional bouts of anxiety that are almost unbearable  -  cannot sleep, feel like climbing walls and think I am going crazy.

So far this week things are going well - just came home from aqua fitness - makes me tired but feeling good!

I will continue to think that even the anxiety will pass in time and look forward to life w/o it :)

And screw the pcp who wanted to put me back on the poison...

Bless you for all of your help and kindness
