I am here to gain support and support others

I have bipolar and my doc wants me to double my zyprexa dose but it makes me gain weight...so i'm not complying but realize that if i don't i will continue to feel crazy...today i'm extremely reactive to the slightest thing, racing thoughts, can't concentrate, high anxiety, constantly restless, angry, agitated...i know this is a mixed epsidoe...the only thing holding me back is that I'm single and going through menopause and have body image issues to the point that gaining weight sends me into a tailspin and my depression takes a nosedive.

I don't know what to do...i'm already on 6 psych meds...i see him next Thursday and he can't help me if I don't follow his orders...The zyprexa really helps me stop having these uncomfortable feelings of wanting to jump out of my skin....i just need to tell myself that being think isnt as important than feeling SANE.

Any suggestions or advice are welcome...I need the support desperately...THANK YOU SO MUCH.

6 psych meds? I think that is what is crazy, not you. The drugs ( I don't call them meds) may be causing your mania type episodes.

We know that bipolar label is used to gain more profits it was a trendy label in the 2000's just to put people on drugs. How do you know that your "bipolar" wasn't caused by your drugs?

Everyone feels ups and downs of life. I think anyone could have the bipolar label. Since there is no measurement and it is subjective by each doctor ( who may be biased for profit) they could be wrong. You might be out of your mind right now because you are on 6 drugs. I have only heard of that in military soldiers experimenting. 6 is way too much and is sick. I believe that could be making you sick - although I am not a doctor and haven't heard your story.

6 drugs would make me sick and go nuts as well. I can't believe this.

Zyprexa is a really hardcore drug and maybe it should not be taken. Unless I hear stories of you going on severe mania and severe depressive episode without any drugs, then maybe you are bipolar. Ups and downs of life is normal especially for a woman.

I guess I would only add this to what 'Air' said. Which came first, the bipolar or the 6 psych meds. Between your psych issues and being on that many meds it is really hard to tell what is causing what even for a dr.

May I ask what psych meds you are on beside cymbal and Zyprexa?
