So as I'm finding out, it's true what people say about the last few beads being the worst. Starting with approximately 280 beads of my 30mg capsule, at the start I was able to drop up to 40 beads every few days with barely any symptoms. Since I've got to the last 10, Ive been lucky to take out a bead a week. I've been experiencing mild withdrawals with each bead I drop ranging from anxiety, nausea, aggression, insomnia... The list goes on. Not to scare anyone though the symptoms have been manageable, just uncomfortable. I'm now at 5 beads but at this rate, it will take me another month or so to be completely cymbalta free!

Tinker, congratulations! What a wonderful progress -- success -- report!

Please keep posting about your experiences with these last few beads ... it's very helpful to others doing it this way to know more about this last phase of the slow weaning process!

Thanks FN. I can't say its been a pleasurable ride but the bead counting method sure does cushion it. I think the key here Is a very sloooow ending to the process to reduce any symptoms as when your this close, one bead can make a lot of difference. Not sure if I am a success story yet as by the sounds, the journey continues even once your bead free but I will keep you all posted.

Tinker!  I'm completely there with you!  These last few beads - and you look at them and wonder how in the world they make THAT BIG of a difference!

I was down to 12....so I'm not quite as far as you are - and everything kicked in again.  Bumped back up to 14 yesterday and today (where I last felt semi-normal) and today is SOOOO much better.

I was told on Monday by a friend who was trying to be helpful "Just throw them away and be done with it!  Suck it up!"  Not helpful.  This certainly isn't my timeline either - but I'd rather go slow and function than be the mess I was on Monday.  Each day....it's something new...and so FRUSTRATING!

It's crazy isn't Amy! One little bead, It makes you think how on earth did anyone actually do this cold turkey and survive. That's good that you're not rushing the process, the slower the better I think this close to the finish line, although I don't know about you but I feel ridiculous sometimes swallowing just 6 tiny beads in a basically empty gel cap. No one who hasn't been through the process would get it, but good to hear that your listening to your body and not to others opinions.

Tinker, I wonder about that every day myself ... how in the hell did I survive cold turkey? When I think back to what I was feeling/experiencing the first 3 months or so, I truly don't know why I didn't go back on the stuff, or check myself into a hospital ... the symptoms where so awful that I almost don't believe I could have had them ....

TFL did the CT route, too ... I figure that we're two of the older broads here on the forum ... maybe it's just that we were / are too old and tough to kill off? Kinda like the old hens in the hen yard ... too old to lay eggs, too tough to cook for dinner, and just too mean and ornery to bother with ... so we're sorta' left alone and allowed to "hunt and peck" around in peace ... :D

In the future want 2B off Cymbalta! The physicians are no help. Looking for understanding, support & encouragement as I know this is a difficult process. Want 2 be of help 2 others who will find this site looking for same things as I.

It took me over 4 months to slowly wean off the Cymbalta poison. I had to drop only 1 bead per day. To go any faster brought on w/d symptoms from hell. I've now been off this vile poison for a little over 4 months. I still have good days and days not so good. I take it one day at a time doing the best that I can with what I've got left to work with. Yes my brain is damaged from this nasty bad drug but it is what it is. Prayers for you from TheEquuswoman.

Thank you for the prayer Equuswoman! I dearly appreciate it!

You have more than enough brain, so a little Cymbalta damage won't slow you down one bit! Take care EW!!
