Hello everyone!

Last time i was on here was throwing up on my bathroom floor desperate and broken. Since then I have decided to cut out all prescription drugs other then cymbalta like my birth control and adrenal. I also stopped drinking which make me really sick.

From everyones help I have decided to count beads. I have been taking 5 away every week. The only problem is that now my meds start wearing off early and that because I'm not on a high dose anymore my anxiety is through the roof. Im pretty sure i messed up a relationship that was starting between me and this guy i recently met. Im paranoid and super stressed. I get this burning feeling in my chest and i feel like I'm going to vomit when i stress or when i think about this mistakes iv made. Iv been so stressed that I actually have no appetite is disgusting

With that said i was wondering if anyone knows any other script i can take that doesnt have such a violent come down like cymbalta? I know i have bi-polar/manic depressive tendencies and i know i have to be on a low dose of SOMETHING to keep me from stressing and being depressed.

Hope to hear back form anyone soon.

Again thank you all so much!

Truly,

   CL

    I want my life back!

Hi CL ! So glad you came back to post your progress .... which is a lot! Bravo! :)

In order to answer your questions, I need to ask you some questions (fun game, huh? ;))

What dose were you on before you started bead counting?

When did you start the bead counting?

How long have you been on Cymbalta?

Are you taking the brand or a generic?

What condition was / is the Cymbalta for?

What other meds are you taking now, what doses, and for what conditions?

Do you have a doc, shrink, and or therapist?

What you're experiencing sounds like withdrawal anxiety ... were you prone to anxiety before you started bead counting? And yes, those symptoms you've got are typical anxiety stuff ... do you have a benzo on hand to help you manage / reduce the anxiety?

If not, do you have any Benadryl? Or Robitusson cough syrup or Nyquil? Any of those will help reduce the anxiety ... but beware of the cough syrup and especially the Nyquil ... do not take them and drive or try to do stuff... !

Don't worry about the relationship you think you might have "messed up." Once you get the anxiety under control, you'll be able to email / call / talk to him/her and explain a bit about what happened and why, and that you're in the process of changing medicines ... we'll help you with how to explain this stuff... cuz folks who haven't been through it have a really hard time understanding ... but if this person is worth having a relationship with, you'll find your apology and explanation will be accepted and the new relationship will be that much better for this ...

We all have the emotional swings while coming off the poison. Laughing one second, next second crying, next second homicidal maniac ... then, settling down and saying what the hell was that all about ... yep ... it's actually a sign of progress! :P

Hang in there. You're going to get through this!

I hope I didn't overwhelm you with questions, but we need to know the specifics in order to give you good suggestions and advice.

clean life - have you ever been on a mood stabilizer like lithium, depakote or lamictal? i am on lamictal. i hear it has some kind of withdrawal but doesn't last as long and is allegedly not nearly as intense. while there is a very slim chance that someone could develop stevens johnson syndrome while "ramping up" - ya gotta go real slow to get to therapeutic dose in order to avoid it - there are no considerable side effects for most folks. i have none. certainly not the weight gain, extreme fatique and hair loss of depakote. oh, if not on an anti-d at the same time, lamictal makes it almost impossible to drink. its been blamed for a "three day hangover after half a lite beer" - since i dropped cymbalta i can barely tolerate alcohol anymore.

those are some possible med options for BP - lamictal is especially good for those whose mood swings lean towards the depressive side. no one with BP should ever take any anti depressant unless on a mood stabilizer.

good luck with the recovery, it can be tough! this is a good place for support and guidance. but a good psych and therapist are key, especially in regard to the anxiety.

brzghoff and fivenotions- Thank you for your advice!

FiveNotions- I have been taking xanax esp. at night when the med wear off. Its so weird. when i get a txt or something i get this excited/sick/butterly feeling in my stomach... it makes no sense. its like all my feelings are highly intensified. I was watching my nephew laugh on video the other day because they live in AZ, i was laughing and then started crying, i used to hardly cry so to be honest it feels good but all these butterflies make no sense.

 Soooo... To answer your questions....

What dose were you on before you started bead counting?- 60 mg... i was down to 30mg when i stared bead counting.

When did you start the bead counting?-I started to count beads july i believe... it was the second to last soccer game of the FIFA world cup... I remember because i was bartending and wanted to die.

How long have you been on Cymbalta?-  I think i have been on cobalt since i was 19 so about 7 years or so.

Are you taking the brand or a generic?- i am on the generic

What condition was / is the Cymbalta for?- my condition was bi-polar disorder (more depression) with anxiety.

What other meds are you taking now, what doses, and for what conditions?- I'm not taking any other meds except xanax or clonopin when i need it.

Do you have a doc, shrink, and or therapist?- i dont have a shrink because I dont have insurance right now...but i see a family doctor sometimes.

Hope to hear from you soon!

truly,

 CL
