OK, getting ready for 2nd wean process on Sunday. 5.5 weeks ago, I went from 40g to 30mg. Too fast! I was waiting until I felt 'normal' on the 30 mg before dosing down again a la the bead counting method. I'm trying 10% dose down next. There are about 270 beads in a 30mg brand name Cymbalta. 10% drop is to 27mg. Since 9 beads = ~1mg, I will end up dropping a total of 27 beads in a month. So, is it best to remove 1 bead on day 1, 2 beads on day 2, 3 beads on day 3, etc? And if I start to feel withdrawal symptoms, hold at the last bead removal dose?

Good going! Glad to hear you've gotten settled after that rough drop from 40 to 30 mg... and that you've got a plan for the bead counting ...

It sounds sensible, jealbrecht, but I'm not a good one to rely on ... I'm one of the cold-turkey crash test dummies here ... but just today I started a new topic ... "bead counting -- how to do it" ... one of us had suggested doing this recently, but I forgot who, had some extra time and figured I'd try to get it going ... head over there and cross-post your question/proposed game plan ... everything you share will add a lot to the info over there ... hopefully it'll be a thread that will catch new members' and guests' eye right away...

Good job, JB;) so nice to read a post from someone patiently, and sounds like successfully, doing the bead counting method instead of the 'jumping out of the airplane without a parachute' route! Sounds like you have the math and the symptom check down pat;). Keep posting and keep us up to date with your progress, good and bad.

You slow tapering and experiences will help those coming behind you and speaks volumes to us cold turkeys:/ , who by choice or were forced to stop for various reasons, of the explosive side effects of withdrawal we barely survived, some better than others.
