I think someone here recently posted that their doc was having a compounding pharmacy do their doses for Cymbalta weaning ...

I hope to God this isn't the company that's doing it ...

Now that I have been off this poison for over 6 years, I hope to help others as they join us

Yep, one more thing that we have to check carefully and not trust implicitly ... compounding pharmacies ...

It just never stops... making money off of our backs, our suffering, our struggles ... that "special place in Hell" for these people that I often mention just keeps getting bigger and bigger and bigger ...

this is a tragic story. i remember when the news broke a couple years ago and made headlines for a couple weeks. i think its was a specialized drug that was for treating back pain. sounds like this company was owned and run by a mafia-type family. filthy lab conditions. while its being referred to as a compounding pharmacy, they were really more of a drug manufacturer. you are right, there should be a special place in hell. and yes, the new DSM is outrageous and criminal.

most compounding pharmacies are on the up and up. but there are bad ones, just like there are bad doctors and bad cops. like with all businesses, there are bad apples. it is essential to get recommendations before going to one but compounding pharmacies provide essential services for people who need meds tailored to their specific needs, like smaller dosages that would be helpful to wean from cymbalta.  we've all wondered why there couldn't be pills broken down into smaller dosages, compounding does this. my walgreens provides compounding services such as creating topical creams for meds sometimes taken internally. that kind of thing. compounding pharmacies are also important for creating certain medications that are not mass manufactured but whose components are readily available. where they've gotten a bad rap is concocting illegal steroids and other performance enhancing drugs - florida had problems with Signature Pharmacy: http://articles.orla...is-kirk-calvert

we do have a couple people on the forums who have mentioned working with compounding pharmacies. i know that its more common in the UK for people weaning of drugs to use a liquid form of duloxetine. we had a british man on the board several months ago who mentioned it was not uncommon there.

Hi there FN
This may have been me you were thinking of! I am having vitamins compounded though, not cymbalta! Scary story 😬
