6 weeks ago I decided to wean myself off of Cymbalta (30 mg) due to my elevated liver enzymes and digestive issues.  I started with the typical weaning of one day on and one day off.  This is not the best way to wean according to my Pharmacist and I agree.  I discussed bead counting with my Pharmacist and decided this was the best way to wean so I started counting out only half the beads (15mg) and putting back in the capsule.  This worked great!  At this point I figured I would just go for it and stop all together.  Now at the same time I had began taking Plexus products which are all natural products to help clean out the gut and cleanse your body as well as having other benefits.  During my whole withdrawal (3 weeks) I can tell you I only had 2 bad days of withdrawals (dizziness, brain zaps, trembles).  I truly give the credit to the advice of my Pharmacist to bead count and also with the Plexus products I am taking.  Good news---I am off my Reflux medicine and Nausea medication and my liver panel is normal!!   Doctor did tell me that all my digestive issues were probably related to the Cymbalta and I should have already been taken off of it by my Gastroenterologist.  Cymbalta according to my doctor is used for chronic diarrhea and IBS and therefore could have attributed to my digestive system basically being paralyzed.   Dangerous drug and I am so glad I am off of it!   If anyone is interested in learning more about the Plexus products that has helped me just let me know and I can give you some details!!!

Welcome pgrogan!

So happy to have you with us!  Congratulations on getting off this poison drug so quickly!  You are indeed one of the lucky ones :)

I have been off the crap for over 15 months now, but am currently having some really nasty and painful gastrointestinal problems.  I would love to hear more about the Plexus products you mention.

Please feel free to post the info under the topic "nutritional support" - I look forward to reading about it!

Thanks!

Liz

Welcome, and good work!

I took 6 weeks (42 days) to wean off by bead-counting also. I, however, had a lot of symptoms throughout and should have extended the timeline.

I will look into the Plexus products and see what that's about; thanks.

Don't be surprised if you experience a few symptoms that may come in waves-- a few days here and there-- in coming weeks and months; it's possible.

All the best to you!
