...will your nervous system get derailed, the same way it does when you have a big jump down? (I'm talking like "pit of despair" and terror.)

The same type of withdrawal symptoms as a big jump just less severe.

If you take the bead counting slowly enough you should have very little side effects at all

How do you know when to slow down? I mean, if you get any symptom at all, that means you should stay where you are till it passes? What if it doesn't pass?

You know when to slow down when symptoms become difficult to manage. All the symptoms will diminish in time, but the amount of suffering you encounter relates to the timeline (and therefore the dosage) you established when you begin.

If you get symptoms that are tolerable, that's fine-- it's when the symptoms interfere to the point where it's a problem that you have to slow down. Everybody is different. Symptoms are a problem, for example, when you can't sleep, are experiencing rage, are impacting members of your family, are a hazard to yourself or others, are experiencing unmanageable anxiety etc.

What if it doesn't pass? I don't know.

So, if there are symptoms you are finding maneagable (say, slight dizziness or head zaps or something), they won't worsen if you continue your taper?

That's unknown. If they worsen some but are manageable that's one thing, but if they become debilitating you will have to slow down some and wait. It can take several days or more to register a change.

There's a lot of trial-and-error in this exercise.

I was just typing up the same response Ramona. You just have to learn your own limits.
