Hi. Thank you for providing help on this forum. It is important work.

I have been on Cymbalta 30 mg. since May (5 months 1/2 months). New psychiatrist wants me off as I am already on two other anti-depressants (Remeron and Doxepin). He advised tapering 50% for 2 weeks, 25% more for another 2 weeks, and then 2 more weeks to get off the last 25%.

I intuitively knew this was too fast, so tapered 25% only. So, I'm down to 75% of the 30 mg. after a week. I have not felt great, mostly deep fatigue. Then I found your site. I am on generic Duloxetine (180 beads average in a capsule).

I think I will bead count from here. Maybe 3 beads a day? That's 1.6% reduction. It will take me about 48 days at this rate.

I would be grateful for your advice and support. I am again feeling very fatigued today. Gotta go lie down.

Thanks again for your support.

Hi Macadamia

I think that is a great idea but a little fast. I usually recommend a 90 to 120 day taper. With 135 beads left on your current dosage I would recommend a drop of 2 beads a day until you get down to around 20 beads and then slow to 1 bead a day. Those last few beads really have a strong effect. Go slow at that time.

I'm down 56 beads. Not feeling well today. Didn't sleep well. Feel very tired today.

I was prescribed 30 mg. Cymbalta for an episode of major depression and panic disorder.

Have others experienced panic attacks during their withdrawal? Just trying to navigate the terrain......

Thanks for your support.

Hi Macadamia!

I experienced terrible anxiety and panic attacks during my withdrawal.  This seems to be so for many.  Do you have anything to take for it?

You might try Benadryl or then there is Hydroxizine or Clonidine (these last 2 require a RX but do not have any withdrawal)

To be honest, I took Alprazolam (Xanax) which of course is a benzo.  I needed 2mg/day.  I am not necessarily recommending this - just giving you my experience.  I have been off the C for 2 yrs and 10 months.

Please keep us posted and good luck!

Liz

I would stay at the same dosage for a while Macadamia. At least until you feel better. At that time you can go back to dropping.

Panic attacks?  Oh yea, nearly constant.
