Research has shown that 3 mg dose of melatonin works sublingually (under the tongue) to stem anxiety before surgery.

This is a possible treatment for those of us who suffer from flares in anxiety during withdrawal or not.

That is surprising. I do have melatonin 10mg for bed time but don't use it.

But but but, I will try it when I feel that hell is not too far away! Thanks!

Yes, please Gail, let us know.

I will tell you that my son takes 20mg of Melatonin before each night. We do find that if we give it to him an hour or so before bedtime it works better. But please let us know if it works.

The thing is that the 3mg probably calms circumstantial anxiety. But the anxiety I have is not related to anything most of the time. I would probably need 100mg or more. lol!

I will try it for low anxiety, at the moment it's too much sky high.

No FH, I haven't yet. Next time I will. It calmed down today, thank God!

Update

For situational anxiety, absolutely no effect whatsoever. Nada!

I suppose that is how we learn, FH.

I need to correct a statement I made earlier in the post. My son only takes 10mg at night. I an considering upping it though.

I must add that since we all react differently to a "product", others may find a relief.

I am not a good subject here as I have not responded to any antidepressants, except for a few weeks, no more.
