I recently did a series of posts on "Treatment Resistant Depression/anxiety" (under "Medical Support").

It was very long and most would find it difficult to read but if you are having trouble finding the 'right' antidepressant for your anxiety or depression it may be time well spent. What I want to do here is just a quick summary of the key points so that you won't be overwhelmed by the reading of all that.

1) Taking of benzodiazepines while on antidepressants greatly increases the risk of treatment resistance anxiety/depression.

2) The post "list of anxiety drugs" is an interesting read as the drugs are listed in the order of most commonly prescribed.

3) Increase in age, having been through antidepressant withdrawal and weight are risk factors for developing treatment resistant depression/anxiety. Also, the more you change antidepressants the more likely you will develop treatment resistant depression/anxiety.
