I want help and support to get off this awful drug.

Posted 31 December 2013 - 11:11 AM

Again I woke up clearheaded this morning. It makes me know that this will not last forever. I am so grateful for all of you. I can't tell you how reassuring it is when I read your posts and replies. I have discovered that as the day goes on I do become more agitated and anxious and the fog comes back. By bedtime I'm a bundle of nerves and angry at the world. But last night I put Christian music on as I laid in bed. It calmed me. The words have so much meaning and I know God is beside me and will get me through this. I know that at the other side I will be more refined for whatever my true purpose is in this life. I believe that God has given all of us a purpose that is unique to each of us. I believe that things we experience will be used somehow to fulfill that purpose.

Of course by the end of the day I will be mad again, but hey, a little righteous anger is called for here I think!

Have a good day!

Donna

Consider this for today: Stay off caffeine. And upon sensing rising emotion- note if the issue is something you can or can't control. If it's beyond your control, just mentally acknowledge that truth.

Recently started tapering off of Cymbalta. Having bad effects and wanted to see if there were any ways to do this without having such a negative impact on my functionality.

Love my coffee, that's for sure!  I'll fight to keep that! ;-)

Bought my husband a percolator coffee maker for Christmas-what a difference in the coffee for all of you who love coffee! Richer, keeps warm all day long without getting muddy; I keep saying it is as good as diner coffee :)

Another ramble??!!! But I gotta get it out! It's been lurking around in my thoughts for weeks, but the fog/haze just won't allow my brain to focus! Arg!!!! I am with you, Donna on "God has a plan and purpose for us!!! :) This crap med, however has robbed me of so much! Intimacy is a huge one! I'm not a religious nut or Bible thumper, but I do love God and I know what it is to have an intimate relationship with Christ, BUT I have not been able for a few years now to sit down and have a talk with Him and allow Him to guide me in this craziness! I just cannot focus on any one thing for very long and I am sooo dang angry about it! At this point, I'm trying to take one moment at a time. I thank God that He fully understands, (as hard as it is for people to understand where we are) HE gets it TOTALLY!!!! I am ever so grateful that He never gives up on us, loves us no matter what, and is always faithful!!!! I truly feel He led me to this forum to find loving support, to gain knowledge and wisdom, to let me know I am not alone, and to help others in whatever way I can, and on I could go!!! I feel such a kinship with y'all and it helps to keep me going!!!  Trying hard not to cry!!!!  I cannot help but wonder just how much longer till Christ returns!!!!   Love and hugs and prayers all clara :)

Clara "Amen" 2 your post darlin'...I am a "spiritual" woman not a religious one. I have a deep faith. I have Native American ancestry and the Great Spirit and the Trinity (Father~Son~Holy Spirit) are for me "one in the same"...I also use a bible that is The Life Recovery Bible. YES Christ knows all about the difficulties we face every DAY... I don't push my beliefs on anyone but have found that this Bible has done wonders for me in helping me to understand a lot about "life"...check it out on Amazon. That's where I ordered mine from. God bless you sweet forum friend. You remain in my daily prayers! Much Love from TheEquusWoman

Equuswoman, Clara and Fishinghat.

I know no god, but I acknowledge the universal right of each adult to his or her personal beliefs that harm no one.

Best wishes to you and your families in 2014.

Equuswoman you sound up-beat today! How was your Christmas? I never used to like Christmas, but now it's my favourite time of year; I love the music, the profundity, the giving, the family re-connection, the lights, the great food, and indeed- the Christmas Story itself that is so filled with hope and healing.
