Hi TMC

I don't think that was from the clonidine but just to be safe take a half tablet and see what happens. This withdrawal makes you very paranoid. All is going bad, will continue to go bad and will probably get worse. NOT. This is just a chemical reaction in your body telling you this. Try the clonidine one more time and see where you are at. This is the point where patience is the key.

Ah TMC,

My opinion, only mine, get the Prozac or Zoloft. You are entering your fourth month, you have suffered enough. I believe that when symptoms get too heavy, should it be clonidine or hydroxyzine, it's not enough! Specially at this point in time.

TMC, go for it! If I remember right, you have Xanax. Worry about that when time comes. Keep hope, it will be again a waiting process for the med to kick in.

I know that not many people like Paxil, but this one kicks in real fast. Whichever med you decide, keep in mind that at this point in time, you need something stronger. When all becomes calmer, you will be able to see what comes next!

I care for you TMC, this is what I would suggest to my best friend!

I agree with Gail...you need help NOW!!!

I relied on Xanax (Alprazolam) sometimes up to 4 grams a day - you do what you have to do

I wish you the best!

Gail, Liz and Fishinghat,

Called my dr. He gave me zoloft 50 mg to start  and said to  still take  the xanax and buspar and said to try and take half of the clonidine. So i guess i will go from there and see what happens. I will be back with questions to see if what is happening to me is normal. Plus you all have become family to me helping me like this.

You all are my guardian angels!!!!!

you don't know how much you all mean to me I have never met you but, I owe you all alot for caring for me and getting me threw some very tough times when i have had no were else to turn and was wondering  what in the world was happening to me  but you all have not giving up on me and I CAN NOT THANK YOU ENOUGH!!

I will continue to pray for you all and i hope you for me thanks again!!!

Is it safe to take buspar and zoloft together?

Absolutely. I take both together. As long as the dose on the Buspar does not exceed 10 mg 3 times per day then there is little risk of serotonin syndrome developing.

It takes Zoloft 4 to 6 weeks to kick in so it has had no effect on you yet. So it will be out of your system in about 1 week.

Are you still trying the Clonidine and/or hydroxyzine? The nice thing about them is that they are immediate effect and can bring some faster relief.

TMC,

Anger is a withdrawal effect from Cymbalta. Haven't you experienced this before?

50 Zoloft is not that much, I would stick with it. But then, you are the boss. Keep posting.

I wonder if you are having a reaction to the Zoloft. It is famous for causing upset stomach but usually not to the point of vomiting. Typically when one starts on Zoloft there is 3 or 4 days of upset stomach and diarrhea then it goes away. This usually happens every time the dose is increased but doesn't last long nor is it severe. Buspar is not known for stomach problems but I am going to check the FDA side effect website and see what they say.

I especially thought the first one on buspar was very interesting. Luckily for me that didn't happen when I started Zoloft.  lol

Oh my goodness, and now, what the ***** do we do? We need relief here, not aggravation. Oh TMC, I guess that you will stop Zoloft, well, I think!

FishingBrain, if TMC didn't use Buspar, which is low dosage, you think it be ok for the Zoloft? Scratch that, the Xanax is also in the mix. Oh my dear, surely in that Bigbrain of yours, what mixes well with Xanax and Buspar. For sure, not Paxil, bad reputation with Xanax.

TMC, are you the member that is on HRT? If not, are you near Perimenopause? Can't remember here.

Fishinghat, Prozac, does this mix well with Buspar and Xanax? How I wish that I could be God and find the right TOLERABLE mix! Time and patience plus ???

I took zoloft before with no problem. I am 45 took it for about 15 years. Then it stopped working and we tried other drug and they stopped working and then i think celexa and it did not work made me a angry person and then that crapalta came in in November stopped mid January and now cant take zoloft did it mess my system up that bad? Or is it the buspar and  i only take 5mg twice a day right now only been on it for about 7 days and is the xanax messing with the doseage?

I wonder if i had to much serotonin in my system?

Does buspar have serotonin in it? I dont know

Dr was talking wellbutrin?

Gail I had to have a hysterectomy at 32. but went off estrogen two years ago so maybe a little premenopause that u would get. I dont know.

TMC, I just wish I knew these answers. As for serotonin, no, it can't be. I am curious to find out if Prozac could help you.

At 45, Perimenopause for sure. But then, a lot of years you spent on antidepressants. And so little time on the crapshilta. Weird thing is that Zoloft worked for a long time, pooped out, then they put you back on it!!!

Oh my dear, a great deal of Patience is needed here. Trial and error. Let's wait for suggestions from our Fishinghat!

Well young guns, if Zoloft pooped out on you before then you should not be taking it again unless it has been over 5 years. Drs say that is the length of time it takes for your body to reset itself where the Zoloft may work again. None of the ADs contain serotonin, not even buspar. They regulate serotonin. Right now your serotonin levels are bouncing all over the place because you are longer taking Cymbalta and your body is trying to relearn how to control serotonin and norepinephrine without the Cymbalta. Just so you know serotonin is our most common neurotransmitter with the majority in our intestines. That is what leads to all the digestive issues with AD withdrawal. Prozac does not seem to react with buspar (at least not that I could find) but will react with Xanax as do most ADs.

I think the dr is leaning toward Wellbutrin because it does not regulate serotonin and mostly regulates dopamine and norepinephrine.

It is particularly effective against depression.

Once you have been on that many ssri/snri for that many years then it becomes difficult for the drs to find one that works. I think the Wellbutrin, being a different type of AD may be a good idea.

Hi TMC,

Perfect description of anxiety. The need to run away from this awful feeling!

No doors to go in, no doors to go out! And more and more people are experiencing this, withdrawal or not. An international trend....

Great description, Gail...

My anger issues did not last long, but since we are all different, there is no set rule here.

I still suffer from anxiety but have accepted it as a way of life :(   Just another thing to deal with along w/old age...

Monday I will see an Orthopedic Surgeon - anxiety reigns :o

Good morning needing a little help  about what i am feeling now. On week 14

I feel a little calmer today but my body hurts and weak like it has been threw hell. the last couple days I have had a lot of anger. Is my boby recovering from that?

It feels like i cant even think of what i want to say. God please tell me this is coming to the end of this withdrawal.

Fishinghat I read in on of the post that cymbalta is stored in fat so when you loose weight it comes out well i have lost 40lbs will that make the withdrawal worse?

still have no appetite   is this still all normal?

I love you all for helping me and others on here deal with this! I don't think I would be here today if it weren't for all of you helping answer my questions of is this normal or am I going crazy.

Sorry i feel so needy to ask all this  but i am still scared out of my mind with what is happening and when or if  is it going to stop or is it going to get worse.

Thanks for the help hope and prayers!

I have one more question I am on buspirone 5mg has anyone had a little anger or agitation about 2 hours after taking? And does it not let my xanax not work as well ?

TMC,

Never feel needy as we all are in withdrawal. We need to be reassured, all of us.

As I mentioned in another post, the anger question, I can't relate to that but oh! How many do.

All I can say is what I have read, but not experienced, there should be a turning point around week 12, far from perfect but having good days followed by less good. That is the saying.

In my time, let's say four years back, I was encouraged to push through till 7months. That, I think, is way too much. But I kept hope till then!

Now let's wait for FishingBrain, but I have to insist, when the four or five months are done, something has to be done!

First of all the feeling of being dragged down after several days of anger is typical. Anger goes hand in hand with adrenaline. If you have nearly had a bad car accident you can remember afterward that the knees shake and you feel week. Tis is the adrenaline wearing off.

Lack of appetite can last quite a while.

Don't feel bad about being scared and asking a lot of questions. Believe it or not that is typical. We understand that. No problem. It sounds like you are just beginning to settle some as what I get from your post is that the anger comes and goes. Just like Gail said, it will stay shorter and shorter amounts of time and go away for longer and longer periods. It will be a slow process but you will get there. If you make a note right now on your thoughts about how much of the time you are feeling anger (say 80%) and in exactly one month make another note it will probably 65 or 70%. Now that is just an example but day by day it can be hard to tell if you are improving.

And as far as worrying about what is going on with you. They say the average person who goes through antidepressant withdrawal will go the ER twice thinking they are dying or there is something seriously wrong with them.

I will get back with you in a moment about the buspar. I know I have been on it years and have not had any side effects associated with it but that may just be me.

As far as the buspar...The FDA says that less than 1% experience anger as a side effect. That is not much. Checking on buspar effect on Xanax action now.

I found several research articles which studied the combined use of Xanax and Buspar. They noted no negative side effects due to their combined usage although the blood levels of buspar and Xanax was a little higher (but not a lot) if used together.

I am optimistic you are just starting to turn the corner but like Gail said. If after 4 or 5 months and there is till the same issues you need to take a closer look at things.
