    Fibromyalgia and taking Cymbalta

Posted 04 March 2010 - 08:48 PM

I went to see a pharmacist today about another matter, and he proceeded to tell me all of the benefits of nutraMetrix Isotonix OPC-3. This is a supplement containing several anti-oxidants, including grape seed extract, red wine extract, pine bark extract, bilberry extract, and citris extract bioflavonoids. He said several customers had purchased this and were very happy with the results after just three weeks. I'm a fool--I bought a 30-day supply for over $60. Has anyone tried this for fibro pain? I'll be taking my first dose tomorrow.

Am trying to get off Cymbalta 30mg and wondering about brain zaps.

Mary,
As a health practitioner, I have found OPC-3 along with a few other nutrients to help with depression. I do think the Pharmacist was out of line in his price. The 90 day size sells for $69.95 plus tax. He did over-charge you for the 30 day size. Also you need to be under a doctors care when you wean your self off any medication. OPC-3 will get blood flow to the brain, it will cross the blood-brain barrier and open things up in general. It is a powerfully successful product when used properly. I hope you see this reply and hope it helps give you some direction.

Jeannette I'm not sure where you are, but one of the reasons many in the US have been forced to drop Cymbalta cold turkey is price, and many, many, many have paid MANY hundreds of dollars for a month's supply, if they don't have insurance. I'm in Australia, where no one (employed, insured or not) pays more than about $35 for a month's supply of anything, so don't feel able to say too much, except that I've read so many posts here from folk in the US regarding how much they've had to pay.

it's the same on another health board that I frequent (completely different field) with people having to pay many hundreds of dollars per month for an essential drug.

regards, Maureen.
