I am on 60 mg and have no access to 30's. My question is whether you can break the capsules open and just take half of the contents? Or should I just try 60 mg every other day?
Can you break the capsules open?

I pulled the 30mg capsules apart and refilled each end and carefully shallowed them that way. You can also get empty gel caps at a health food store if your stomach is sensitive. It worked and helped me to wean down. Though I am still having ear pain, and the doctor can find nothing wrong with my ear.

Yes, you can wean by gently opening the capsules and "eye balling" the measurement for half, then a quarter, etc using the light in my bathroom to gauge the amount. It gets tricky beyond a quarter measurement. I throw away the part I don't take down the bathroom sink then recap the capsule with the other half. It's too hard to take 1/2 a capsule with meds in it--at least for me. Good luck!

Hey figo9 and all:
You can empty gel capsules from a vitamin and/or supplement store to make your own dose of medication. Be really careful not to crush the Cymbalta beads, as it is time released and you can get too much medication at once if the time release coating is any way compromised.
And, please don't throw your medication in the sink or toilet, it gets into the water supply. There have been some studies of our water supply, and you won't believe the stuff they are finding. I will try to find the link and post it later. Your pharmacy should take back your old medications for proper disposal. My vet's office will even do it for me. I give them my old used medication bottles. They reuse them, the bottles, not the meds :) !
