Had a scary incident, now thinking of getting off Cymbalta. I came for advice, support and friendship.

Hey, I've an idea ... instead of law suit eking money from Eli Lilly ...  let have all the execs and R&D folks take Cymbalta for 6 months, THEN have them go through withdrawal.

I think this type of punishment for the pharmaceuticals would be an eye opener.  Heck, maybe FDA should require R&D folks and execs at alllllll pharmas to partake in "6 month trial"

Okay, that's it for my sniping (tee hee)

Hahahaha.  We all have those moments!

I actually filled out a form today to report my side effects to the FDA (which was recommended on another site I pop in to on Facebook).  One of the questions they ask if they can share this information with the manufacturer.  I sat and stared at that question for longer than I should have.

Then I checked yes.  As if they read it.  As if it matters.  BUT....for one moment it was a little "F-YOU!" to them.

oh what a wonderful thought! Mine has always been to sneak my leftover beads into my doc's coffee .... but I like this more ... mandate that before shrinks/docs can give out rxs for this stuff they have to take it, and then quit it....following their own instructions ...

oh, Scared, what a lovely revenge idea ;)

You know I don't want revenge. What I have been through doesn't even make me angry. Just sad. The only thing I want is for no one else to have to go through this.

FH, it's not really revenge is it? more like a walk in our shoes ...  B) ... although, there are many plateaus (is that the right word?) during withdrawal right?  Anger being one of them ... sadness for sure.  I'm glad you've moved past the anger part, if you were ever there FH ... I vacillate between anger, dismay, sadness, frustration, helplessness, strength, weakness, confusion ... OMG the list is endless right now.

I thought about having my car wrapped with Cymbalta warnings, chuckle  ... you know, so people would see that the issues are before even considering it.  I wish I had known, but we weren't given the information way back when.

Thank goodness for this forum and all those who have travelled the road so many of us are just now walking (stumbling) down ... it's been a place I've relied on for so many decisions and answers!

Thank you FH for always having such great information, I seek you out often ...

Isn't that the truth!!!  Today I've been rational, irrational, sleepy, awake ... oh my!!! more and more ... roller coaster by the minute! ha even with the occasional roller coaster nausea!

I'm taking the advice you put out there, somewhere, here ... I'm going to go back to a lower dose and taper, bead count.  I don't think I can do it any other way.

Thanks! Hugs and prayers to you and yours!!
