I have been doing alright but the people having problems with Cymbalta withdrawal keep coming. What a shame we still have to deal with that drug.

I am filling capsules with 90g now. Still doing okay!

I'm filling the capsules with 70g now. I go down about 5 g every few weeks. I don't want to go too fast.

Hi to all here!!

Doing great Kathy.

For some reason that reminded me of what my father used to say, He was born in 1918 and loved the old slang used at that time. When something was going real slow but steady he would say it "was slow and steady like a toad a walkin'". If however it was erratic he would say it was "steady by jerks like a frog a hoppin'."  It is funny how things can trigger old memories,

Hello Kathy,

So good to hear from you, it's been a while!

My saying is slow as a three toed sloth! You really understand the word SLOW and good for you!

We missed you and hope to get another update when you're ready. Don't worry about going slow, it won't turn you into a toad or a sloth, but a sloth is so beautiful, better than a toad!

I just refilled a week's worth of capsules and I'm really at 60g! I should look at my chart before posting! :)

I need math help!!

My 60mg capsule weighs 365g (I averaged 3 of them). I'm weighing out 50g starting today. So I think my calculations come to ---> 13.7% or 8.22mg of the 60mg capsule?

I used to be good at math. Is this correct? How do grams (g) and milligrams (mg) compare? Aren't there 1000 mg in 1 g? Why don't my 60mg pills weigh 6000g??

Hi Kathy

"My 60mg capsule weighs 365g (I averaged 3 of them)."

That must be hard to swallow as 365 grams is about 3/4 of a pound.  lol  1 pound equals 454 grams.

I assume you meant 365 mg. This would be about 68 mg of Cymbalta (they use a little higher dosage to compensate for what Cymbalta is not absorbed) and the rest is filler, enteric coating and capsule weight. That sounds about right.

The rest of your math is correct. By the way, 1000 mg = 1 gram.

My scale shows 365, I'll take your word for it that it's mg. Why doesn't my scale show 60mg or close? How does 365mg=68mg?? Does my question make sense?

One capsule of 60 mg of Cymbalta contains 67.3 mg of Cymbalta (this allows for some that is not absorbed) and the weight of the capsule as well as filler (there are several and the enteric coating.

Gelatin (UNII: 2G86QN327L)

Hypromelloses (UNII: 3NXW29V3WO)

This is the stage where you have to really slow down before things get carried away. By the way, I hope that is 35 beads not grams.

You have got this girl. Hang in there.

My scale shows .035g not 35g.  :D

It's getting hard to weigh at this low number. I counted about 30 balls so I guess I will be counting from now on. What's a good number to drop each week?

If I had it to do over I would drop about 2 balls a week.

Actually it is but it wasn't meant to be. I don 't know why I called them balls and not beads but I will blame it on Cymbalta. After all I blame everything else on Cymbalta. lol

I'm on 20 beads now, I have to start counting because they are too weightless to weigh. I have to make up more capsules tomorrow, I will go down a bead each drop. I stay on a drop for about 2 weeks so this will take me another 40 weeks or so. Slow and steady wins the race!!

Hi Kathy,

You've learned from a Master. How are you feeling at this point? Symptoms? Good to see you, and when the Master retires, you could be the one to replace him perhaps? We never know!!

Gail, I'm doing good. I've been at this taper since November 2016!!!

My head buzzes, but that might be my tinnitus. Who knows?

My knees have some pain, if I would just get up and exercise instead of sitting on this couch most of the day I'd probably be better off!!

I tried tapering in 2011 and didn't make it. The nausea, queasiness, the reaction to lights (sun and electric) and the dizziness moving my head from side to side along with knee pain were the most annoying, I only have the knee pain now and I can live with that!

How are you doing, Gail?

Good for you Kathy! It was tough, wasn't it?

Oh yes, we can deal with the knee pain, nothing compares to hell!
Thanks for answering. I made a post about Going Home, you can catch me there Kathy.
Bonne route my sweet Kathy.

I'm talking 10 beads a day now, I'm going to reduce 1 per week and see how that goes. I'm doing well. I have to count now since the beads are too light in weight to weigh.

Hi Kathy,

Already 10 beads and doing good, bravo for you.

One bead a week sounds good, you have done your homework. Hope all goes well for those 10 beads.

So nice of you to update, looking forward for the next one, thanks Kathy!

Thanks Gail, how are you feeling these days? xoxox

Excellent job Kathy. We will celebrate when you make it to zero.

I think I went down too fast to 10 beads (from maybe 15??), but I don't feel bad... so I'll stay at 10 and go down from there.... unless I start feeling horrible.

One of the best things that has happened so far is the awful sweating has stopped!!! Yay!

Hi Kathy,

I'm doing ok, bit of symptoms here and there. Spiritually, doing pretty good. Hydromorphone has gone up in the last 2weeeks for back pain. Thanks for asking!

If you do prayers Kathy, I need them. If not, it's ok.

From 15 to 10, you got me nervous here. Do stay at 10 for a while. Are you cross tapering?
If so, with what? You seem happy and freeer. So good to here.

I will certainly say a few prayers for you, Gail!

I didn't go from 15 to 10 all at once, I think I just didn't post here with the drops.

I am on 9 right now, I am scared that I'm not having any problems dropping.
