Well this is interesting.  My 19 year old son is coming off of Cymbalta and he is now down to 40mg.  He came home yesterday with a 20mg script so I asked him about it.  He said that she is having him go 20mg in the am and 20mg in the pm for a while and then to just 20mg.

Never heard of this before.  I wonder if she is trying to fix the half life issue by making him take it morning and night.

Ugh!  Guess I am in the Cymbalta business again. I'll be calling her to gently mention the opening of the capsules to get to the lower doses.

I've heard a couple members describe that method and yes it provides am more stab le blood level of Cymbalta but you still have the same total amount going into your blood and it foes nothing to prepare you for withdrawal.

You know what to do and your son is lucky to have your help.

God bless and prayers for you both.
