Question to FH, I'm down to 2.5mg. My insomnia seems to be worse than ever. Is that common with the weaning process? Especially at my level? Hate to think I have some other problem brewing here. Thanks for your help.

Insomnia is very common. There are some tricks in "Summary of Cymbalta Withdrawal" that help some. One is to take 3 mg of melatonin and place it under the tongue until dissolved. It will enter the blood stream rapidly and help you get to sleep faster. It won't cure your insomnia but it will help. It will also be out of your system faster and not leave you with that draggy yucky feeling when you wake up.

Used to take something called Melatonin Ultra, at Costco, made by Schiff. It had chamomile, theanine, and valarian in it. I ran out. Costco no longer carries it. I looked online and it appears to have been doscontinued. Wonder why? Wondered if something bad was reported with it or the ingredients.

Many products with Valerian root has been discontinued due to so many side effects and drug interactions.

Oh. That's probably why then. I was wondering. Yikes...I took a whole bottle of those..mostly over the last year. So I should switch to a straight melatonin product then. Any particular one you recommend?

Not really. They do make ones that are for placing under your tongue. They are called sublingual and they just dissolve a little faster.

My son just started taking prescription melatonin.  Have you tried that?

I didn't know there was such a thing. Just bought an OTC melatonin but I haven't tried this one yet. Thanks for the suggestion. .I'll look into it if this doesn't work. Had another sleepless night last night. So exasperated.
