Hi. I’m Ellen, and don’t feel I need cymbalta. It was prescribed as an antidepressant as it helped my brother, however he suffered from joint pain which wasn’t my issue. I was recently diagnosed with adult adhd...had it forever but not recognized in my day. More of a boredom, hyper focusing thing. So I’m on adderall which has helped me strangely more than any medication as it had made me calm, and reduced anxiety. But once I read about withdrawal from cymbalta I thought holy crap! This will stink! I don’t mind counting beads...but I took out 10 today. I was going to attempt to titrate down to 10 less per capsule for about a week for the 60 mg, as it looked like quite a few beads in there. I don’t want to go too quickly. Does anyone have a good schedule to follow? I don’t care if it takes a year or two. Just want off of them. Thanks

Hi
It took me 4 months to wean off this poison. It was worse than coming off long acting morphine...
Fishinghat helped me to do this. It's been 5 years now!
This is an amazing group of people!

Hi Ellen and welcome!

Glad you have found us as you will save yourself a lot of unnecessary nastiness. So, in order to make any suggestions about a schedule, it is better to know how long you have been on the cymbalta for, and how you are feeling over all?

As equuswoman has said, it can be one of the worst to come off from, and you will need to go slow - and the slower the better, but again we can give you an idea of how to proceed. You will need to count the amount of beads in each capsule to begin with, and then depending on your symptoms, we would remove beads as we go. Some can do larger initial drops of say 5 or 10mg, but everyone - bar none - need to put the brakes on the further towards the end you get.

We have some great resources here to help you with the effects of withdrawal, and lots of love and support. My other friends will be along later to welcome you too, but for now, any extra info you can give us on the above will help.

Welcome Ellen

Like IUN said, we first need to know how many beads in a capsule then we can give you some guidelines.

Welcome Ellen,

You came to the right place for help. We will all support you in anyway we can. Some are better with the research, I am not the best at that. I have had my battles with the horrible drug. I come up on my 3 year anniversary being Cymbalta free. My journey is not one I would recommend as I got frustrated with the bead counting. I chose to gondola turkey at the last half. Bead counting may seem horrible inconvenient but my way was much worse. These people helped me and still help me today. We are here when you need us.

Blessed Be,
Raven
