What I meant was the overall effects of taking the extra beads will not show until the levels have had time to settle which takes around 3 days, but this would assume that you carried on taking the extra beads for the following few days, so what you might have experienced there is a spike in levels, which under the circumstances doesn't surprise me. Like I said, it is a 40% boost from "normal", so your system has had a bit of a shock and this is its way of telling you.

How are you getting on now?

I think you hit it bang on,,, the next night I slept better but another sleepless night last night :( very hard for me to deal with, lots of anxiety all night until about 11:00am where my system calms down and it's more tolerable, but I think It was too big a jump.. but I have to stay there for a while or else I won't know what to do anymore :(

I did see my Naturopathic Doctor this morning and she put me on :  B complex (which I was already taking most of the past years, Vitamin D 2000mcg vitamin C 1000mg, magnesium (morning and night) and see gave me homeopathic pellet as needed for anxiety… and I got some chamomille tea...thoughts ?

B complex - I really have an issue with drs who give out B complex without blood tests first, The issue is vitamin B6. The RDA is 1 – 3 mg/day. Doses of pyridoxine in excess of the RDA over long periods of time result in painful and ultimately irreversible neurological problems. Many of the supplements contain values in the 20 to 30 mg range or even more. With a half life of 28 days it stays in the body a long time. It is the second most common toxic event found in ER visits. My wife had this occur with some severe neurological pain. Luckily we found out was the cause was and it took her 7 months for the blood levels to return to normal. Check the dosage on your complex. Also look at our ebook. It lists all the vitamins, their RDAs and risks of toxic events.

I have no issues with the other items except one caution on the magnesium. Magnesium can make anxiety much worse if your blood levels are normal. This has happened to a few members. Also as blood levels of magnesium raise it causes blood levels of calcium to decrease. Most drs I have talked to state that blood calcium and magnesium should be checked every 6 months is a patient is taking one of those two as a supplement.

Thanks for you reply FH

I never took magnesium except a few years ago in a calcium-magnesium liquid.  As for B complex I have been on them mostly when I wasn't feeling great, because whenever i feel good I forget to take them.  I guess being gluten free for the past 11 years or so, I don't think I have much opportunities to get B vitamins (almost no grains in my diet).  But I will be careful, magnesium scares me a bit because of some posts on here about euphoria feelings, don't need that now, as I feel my adrenaline is way too high the past 2-3 days (since I upped the 9 beads).  this is so complicated and confusing also because no one reacts the same to anything :(

the homeopathic is okay you think ?

thanks again for everything

I can't really say about the homeopathic pallet as I am not sure what is in it. If you can find the ingredients I would be glad to look into it.

True homeopathic treatments should be created to only allow what the body would only allow to do itself - if that makes sense. They give your bodies own healing system a gentle nudge in the right direction and the body does the rest. Therefore homeopathic remedies are so very rarely a problem. I have read countless papers relating to treatments and so few problems occur and when they do, the effects are minimal.

A lot of naturopaths and homeopaths also do not like giving away their ingredients because of lot of people look up what effects can occur and can incur problems as a result. Think of that what you will, but unless your doctor has given you something like crazy levels of opium, you should be fine. Remember it is possible that you will feel a little worse with treatment before better, but we are talking no more than 5-7 days at most.

I have been under the direction of a homeopath for 4 months and have had some really promising results. I don't know what she puts in the remedy and frankly, don't care as it is working! But these things aren't one for all. So it would be no good you taking what I am taking as my homeopath - as all should - take into consideration so many variables and each remedy is make specifically for the individual.

Camomile tea will be good. Better if you can get the raw flowers and make a pot and brew yourself as the stuff you buy in the supermarket is so weak that it will not have an effect. Lemonbalm, passionflower and especially damiana tea is great for a light relaxation.

Hi again

it is called Arsenicum, album 30ch  there are no ingredients listed on the pack.  It's from Boiron Laboratories.  I managed to get between 3-4 hrs sleep last night with no anxiety all night but I was anxious all day… I feel the adrenaline, way too much adrenaline in my body,,, I think I upped it way too much, but can't risk going back down again, it is so hard to figure it all out.. :(

thanks again you two are amazing !!

Arsenicum album is a very dilute form of arsenic, a deadly poison.

Everything you need to know about it is located at...
https://en.wikipedia...Arsenicum_album

The 30ch means that it is diluted by a tenth,  30 times. At that level there is very little arsenic present.

Thanks FH

Anxiety has been pretty high all day :(  I haven't tried the pellets, not sure if I should… I am on a facebook group and it is scaring me a bit  I realize that I don't know much about all this and all the info is so overwhelming and scary.  Have you guys ever heard that there is only a 2-3 week reinstating window after being in withdrawal? I honestly been on C for so long and never really worried about anything I could go up and down as I wanted, the only symptoms I would get when I was on a low dose (4-5-6 mg) was low mood and no energy, so I would bring it up again until I felt better, for example in february I was at 6mg had low mood and upped it to 10mg (not all at once I don't think maybe over a few days/week.  But now this anxiety is awful, it all started when I upped from 24 to 34 beads, now I have no idea if this is the result of withdrawal or the result of having too much in my system :(

I feel like I want to go back down but am not sure what to do :(

"Have you guys ever heard that there is only a 2-3 week reinstating window after being in withdrawal?"

Yes, I am familiar with that thought. It has been my observation is that the key is to go back up slowly. Your jump was around 40%. You would have been better served to go up one or two beads a day until relief is felt. This gives your body time to adjust. Many of our members have had good luck with this method.

Arsenicum is known for its aid in anxiety, but it would be no good asking others if it has worked as I said before, it should be based on your circumstances, your system. Anxiety can be as a result of many things and there are many routes a homeopath could take to help. If you feel you can trust the doctor then I would give it a go. If the doctor doesn't know your medical history very well and/or didn't ask suitable questions prior to suggesting the arsenicum, then I would question it.

thanks you two, I had a better night, slept fairly well, woke up a few times but managed to get back to sleep again, a lot less anxiety today, i almost feel good again, maybe this is a sign that I am starting to stabilize (fingers crossed),  been 5 days since I upped to 33 beads… I agree that I went too high a jump in one day…. too much adrenaline in my body i could feel it, which brought the anxiety, i might not be totally out of the woods yet, I will stay here until I see that things are calming down… probably won't touch anything until after the holidays, not taking any chances.

My Naturopath Doctor knows me quite well, been seeing her for the past 10 years, she knows how sensitive I am to any meds… but she is not very educated on cymbalta and I am not sure if many doctors around here are really.  3.5mg is better than 60 at least :)

hope you guys are doing well, thanks for your support

This certainly sounds like withdrawal anxiety, as I am sure Hat would agree. There is no rhyme or reason with anxiety during this time, It can come and go at will, with no obvious reason whatsoever. It is just a case of telling yourself that it is the withdrawal and NOT something wrong with you. Very difficult to do I grant you that. But it is these times when it just "magically" disappears that you can tell yourself that it not-so-magically appears! Unfortunately you do not have control over this chemistry. It is balancing like you say. And of course the adrenaline will for sure be a culprit!

Given your relationship with the naturopath, I would say go ahead with the remedy if you feel you still need it... but I would advise you let things balance out first for another 2-3 days so you can judge the efficacy of the remedy objectively and not as a result of your system recovering from the step up in dose.

Hi you two, well, anxiety is back :(

I had a fairly good weekend (saturday and Sunday low anxiety) slept pretty good, today anxiety is back … still on 33 beads,, don't know what to do as i have no idea if this is still withdrawals or if it's because of the fact I went up too high last Sunday… been a week yesterday I upped from 24 to 33… I am feeling better than I was last week ( at least i am sleeping) but the anxiety is very uncomfortable I hate it :(

How did you guys manage? did you take something to relieve it ?

This won't be anything to do with the jump from 9 days ago now, it is most surely still the withdrawal.

When and in what situations are you finding the anxiety to be the worst? Does it come as if out of nowhere, or are there specific triggers?

Oh - this is for sure still the withdrawal.

Your brain is still cataloging all the emotions and trying to get the chemical levels right. This can happen at any point - even right in the middle of a good patch. The brain works on its own schedule, but like the British railways services... you never know when one is going to turn up :)

This is tough. My goodness, do I know! But just make sure you keep telling yourself it is the withdrawal. It is logical. Anxiety should only come from something that your environment or circumstances trigger which causes you to release the chemicals. This is not normal, ergo, must be withdrawal and it WILL pass.

IUN is correct. These swings are your body tryin g to regain control of the neurotransmitters. Sometimes it wins and sometimes it overshoots. It will steady out in time.

Excellent - keep the faith sk8mom! You might still have the odd up and down, but the severity by which they swing should decrease over time. It is rarely a "magic moment" that it all stops (although possible!), but experience concludes us to share that things do calm down once you start experiencing the first...

right again IUN

I didn't sleep much last night and had some anxiety this morning, it became less severe as the day went by, but I can't say I feel my best… I can't Believe I let this creep up on me like this, I should've know better and slowed down… still on 33 beads, I know this week was better than last week, that is what I am trying to hang on to, I am hoping this doesn't last for months… :(  I haven't tried the magnésium glycinate yet.. I want to, but I'm afraid...

Hope you guys are doing well,,,

Glycinate is the best form to try and is the most absorbent giving the highest elemental figures. Start low and work up from that bearing in mind that too much will bring its own unwanted effects.

What was the lack of sleep due to? Anxiety?

Have your tried melatonin? This work as a sedative AND anti-anxiety... Even dramamine can knock people out to get some rest... worth trying, but a couple of beads is also an opinion if you really feel it is too much.

A couple extra beads may take a day or two to do any good. The melatonin IUN mentioned is best if taken sublingual (under the tongue) and should not exceed 1 mg. Also many of our members used 50 mg of diphenhydramine. It is also a sleep med as well as antianxiety. Diphenhydramine is usually found in over the counter sleep aides as well as some allergy medicine. Be sure and read the labels as they  sometimes use other ingredients that would not help you.

5 months on cymbalta, scary side effects, to get help and to return the favor if I can.

Hello,

If you try dyphenhidromine, they contain 500mg TYLENOL in each tablet. As our man said, read the labels.

It was a miracle for me for 3 years. Like God in a capsule. I've not touched it in a month, it doesn't work. Anymore. So sad, at times I could use it. Good luck
