I have to brag! I went to Adelaide last week as my autistic son was competing in the National Special Olympic Games. He travelled and stayed with the Victorian team which was a fantastic experience for him. They stayed in an Olympic Village which meant he was with his teammates throughout. Just perfect for a 20yo!!
We stayed in an apartment and 2 other families we know were staying in the same building so we had dinners and coffee together and stuff. The organisers put on a Families and Supporters Function at the Zoo where we got to see the Chinese Pandas who are there. The camaraderie throughout the week was fantastic, among both the athletes themselves, and the families and supporters who were there. A tremendous experience.
And....
Jason won silver in his long jump and bronze in his 200M.
